Even though there's a few great songs like the battle theme and Dry Dry Desert, most of the songs have these weird, crude instruments that sound like something from a bad early 90s cartoon. I'm sure it's intentional but it sounds bad. Compare to TTYD which has this grand, orchestra-focused sound, or SPM which is very electronica-heavy. Kind of just a weird thing to bring up as I don't feel like people are out putting it on a pedestal I only bring it up because it was added to the Nintendo Online catalogue, and I'm playing through it for the first time in like 20 years. One of the things that's standing out to me is how much I genuinely don't like the majority of the songs in the game. I don't think anyone puts the music on a pedestal necessarily, but the game as a whole generally is, hence why I labeled this as a hot take. I think the music fits the tone of the game perfectly and find a lot of it memorable.
