I actually remember going back to the FFVII guide just to read it and look stuff up for entertainment after I first beat the game in elementary school.

I had a few for PS2 games but they're long gone. I can't even remember what I did with them.

Metal Gear Solid Strategy Guide is still the best of the series, by far.

The OoT one was written in-universe and it was dope.

Yep unless they were from Prima. They were really hit or miss usually more miss like their terrible O.D.T. guide.

I liked that the one for Ocarina of Time was written in past-tense and laid out like a mythical story.

(paraphrasing) "Link repeated this strategy four more times and defeated the Dodongo."

I had one for Gold/Silver which had some bullshit information. I'm pretty sure (spoilers) after you beat the game, you could talk to an old man in Pewter City to get a wing to catch the other legendary bird. But the guide said he was in Pallet Town. I must have talked to everyone in Pallet Town like a dozen times and ended up figuring it out by complete accident.

I also had one for Resident Evil Outbreak that was pretty cool.

I had the Morrowind strategy guide.

It was literally a book. A thick one. I didn't even use it or finish the game lol

Lmao. No lie, first time I played Red as a kid I wasted mine trying to steal one of Blue's Pokemon.

I remember Final Fantasy IX's being literally a 200 page advert for Square's stupid website that went nowhere.
