I'm watching the live action movie. Unless I misunderstood the opening the only part of her that is not a robot is her brain or maybe her whole head. I'm not sure. Why the fuck do they keep showing her eating food? Her body is all robot

Can you consume that energy with just a brain though? You need a biological body and other parts to obtain that energy

As I understand she is basically just a head or brain placed on a cybernetic body. She doesn't have a digestive system

Why can't a robot body have a digestive system?

Whenever this happens, I assume the android parts have some kind of biosynth digestive system.

If you're wondering how she eats and breathes, and other science facts, just repeat to yourself "It's just a show, I should really just relax"

But the real question is, does she fart?

the latest robocop was pretty cool, they show how they have to wash and feed his blood or something, then gets circulated back into his remaining organic tissues.

I imagine she can't plug a battery straight into her thought-meat, her body has to metabolize food and produce energy in a natural way to most efficiently provide energy. If her brain gets energy too fast, her brain will probably burn out all its synapses and she'll die. If her brain is getting too little energy, the parts of the brain that the power isn't getting to will atrophy and calcify, shortening her life significantly.

It's like, you can try and instantly charge a phone with a direct feed of 1000 watts, but the battery will probably explode. You could charge your phone with a rinky-dink corner store phone charger that's basically a single copper wire, but it's borderline useless and it'll probably fuck up your charging port. You might as well use the charger your phone came with, because the wattage is set at the recommended level and the charge will be at its most efficient.

Why would you risk fucking up a human brain by electrocuting it? If you build in a metabolistic system that provides power to the brain through the digestion of food, you're going to get a safe, optimised fuel source for that part of the body.

Robocop still had his internal organs, digestive system, lungs, heart, etc. He ate a baby food puree, and I guess an unlucky tech had to empty his poop bag.
Maybe Alita has more than just her brain.

In the Manga (Manga and Movie spoilers), she has digestive equipment (The Turbo Mk 8, which is a cybernetic digestive system), Cyborgs don't need it and can instead just use electricity (Cold Fusion to power themselves) - but the Doctor technically wanted his daughter to be as human as possible, and he feels that eating is a sign of being human, and also "excreting substances is proof one is alive".
