This. Vegeta is one of the chars that actually has real growth.

He just deals with his issues uniquely. Most people dont need to be possessed by evil space ball sack looking things to work through their problems. But hey, he was trying and his final flash shone brightly.

Not really. His progression from villain to anti-hero to actual hero is pretty clear. And a lot of it comes from wanting to atone for his past now, like protecting the Namekians against Moro.

I always thought it was a strong emotional outburst that caused it. Goku was his best friend being killed. Vegeta it was finally realizing goku was simply better than him and he couldn't do shit about it. If memory serves correct.

none of that shit ever made sense. it was pure conjecture on their part. what were they even basing it on? welp, goku became super saiyan and he's nice, so i guess only nice saiyans can become super saiyans a-hyuck! it was never part of the original legend they'd heard about on namek.

Being a good husband and father is better then being the most powerful fighter. Vegeta actually valuing his family more shows how he has learned there is more to life then fighting.

Goku being ready to ditch his family at a moments notice for a fight or to train is just pathetic.

Vegeta and Bulma are rich so its not like she needs him for this stuff. And he only leaves when she lets him (prime example is when he refused to go train until bulla was born)

Vegeta was always a better husband. He's certainly had his fuck ups as a husband, but he's always been eons better than Goku as a father and husband.

Vegeta at least gives more of a damn about his wife and children.

Vegeta is a horrible father, husband, person and character all around. As is Goku.

Y'know I get Goku's reasoning for why he wanted to remain dead after Cell but in that whole seven years he never once attempted to visit. He only asked to visit Earth for a day when there was a promise for a tournament to fight in. Meeting his new son was pretty much a complete afterthought.

Actually, couldn't he have used King Kai to call his family the whole time? He clearly never did that because Goten had barely any idea who he was when they finally met.

I don't think he ever bothered to visit Grandpa Gohan in heaven either.

Goku is a shitty husband and father. In fact he's a shitty all around individual.

Him being a shitty individual was stated by Toriyama to be intentional. Super was his way of correcting what the anime team falsely branded Goku into. Which Toriyama wanted him to NOT be a hero.

In my opinion, even before Super and despite the animes attempted branding he's always not been a hero. As a kid I never questioned it, but in retrospect his actions in DragonBall Z are as selfish and non hero like as shit IMO. Goku happily and knowingly did the same shit he does in Super. If it meant he could have fun, he really didn't care about the consequences to everyone else.

Pilaf - A buffoon that they randomly came across who was plotting world domination
Red Ribbon Army - An already-existing army be T on world domination
Piccolo - Released by Pilaf. The only way for Piccolo to not be released is for Pilaf to succeed, or Goku & crew would have needed to kill Pilaf (and they were much more preoccupied with the Hey, this kid turned into a giant ape thing). Besides, everything Piccolo-related is much more on Kamis hands than Gokus.
Raditz - Was bound to happen, no matter what
Nappa/Vegeta - Same
Freeza - He was already a galactic tyrant. Goku stopped him.
Androids/Cell - The only way for them to not be created is if Goku hadnt beaten the Red Ribbon Army, so Gero is gonna do this eventually.
Buu - A universal threat that was completely unrelated to Goku.

The double KO was against one of the absolute strongest people in the tournament, so while it was a quick moment for Gohan, it was supposed to be impressive.

One of my favorite scenes in Super was Vegeta spending so much time thinking of a good saiyan name for his daughter and then Bulma is like, Im thinking of naming her Bra, and Vegeta is just like, fine ._.

Considering that individuals that have grown up as isolated as him have had severe mental delays that prevent them.from functioning in society without FBI I think its a pretty good defense.

Terrible defense. That defense can be applied to most mass murderers. They are still shitty people for their actions.

Plenty have grown up also just fine andor without the psychotic tendencies.

Having a mental illness or not doesn't excuse away your actions if you decide genocide is a viable option as long as you have fun.

Ultimately Goku would choose having fun over the lives of his own family. He has shown this repeatedly with little to no remorse for his selfish choice, and no development whatsoever to change.

Goku is a father of connivence, and only cares about his family when it benefits him. There is no reason that he could not have found time to talk or try to be there for his family post Cell when he was dead.

Vegeta is no angel but he clearly cares more about Bulma then Goku does Chi-Chi who he only sees as his personal cook. Notice that Chi-Chi is almost always pissed off at Goku.
