Should I expect more of the same?

2 is great, maybe better than 1

It all goes downhill from 1. 2 wasn't nearly as bad as 3 though.

2 is great, but it's a different kind of game. It's kind of like the Aliens to Alien.

3 isn't bad, but I think it would have been better if it had been a separate IP instead of having the Dead Space name.

Does the gameplay change much in 2?

Dead Space 1 is better than 3 but not as good as 2. (I just finished 2 for the first time today.)

Dead Space 2 is very fast paced but it's still very much a horror game. Some decent scares and some unexpected stuff. Most people consider it to be an S tier horror game, along with Resident Evil 1 Remake and Silent Hill 2.

Dead Space suffers from padding and needless backtracking (because the game is basically just RE4 in space). Dead Space 2 feels like it finally came into its own.

It's a 10/10 game. Still has some of the best sound design ever.

To answer your question, the gameplay is exactly the same. Less ammo for sure. The Zero Gravity sections are way different. Issac has a voice but he's kinda bland. New weapons as well.

But the actual playing of the game is identical besides not having to return to a train car at the end of every chapter--the chapters are blended in naturally.

They're about the same length as well.

I dont play many horror games. Dead Space 1 got me good lol. Could only finish 1 chapter at a time before I had to set it down

3 has perhaps the biggest downer ending in video game history

Definitely play 2. Don't need to bother with three apparently.

2 is more action, less atmosphere but still great. 3 isnt good

3 isn't bad at all though. Has a lot of crazy lore stuff going on that I liked and some of the early bits feel more aligned with DS1 horror than DS2 action.

3 is an action adventure TPS where you customize 2 OP guns.

I really liked 3 but its a different game.
