I used to think that with a divorce that the partner that automatically made more money would always be ordered to pay spousal support. Funny thing is, it turns out it doesn't work that way at all. I just thought I'd post this here because it is just SOOO Fascinating.

Here are some Factors a Judge will consider in awarding spousal support.

• the marketable skills of the supported spouse; the job market for those skills;(that means if you have credentials for high demand jobs like culinary arts or Nursing, the court will likely determine there is no true need for spousal support. If a well bodied person simply refused to work for the past few years because their wife, i mean partner made enough to pay the bills, the court isn't going to give you jack shit in most scenarios)the time and expense required for the supported spouse to acquire the appropriate education or training to develop those skills; and the possible need for retraining or education to acquire more marketable skills or employment
• the supported spouse's ability to work outside the home without excessively interfering with the interests of any dependent children in his or her custody, and (Welp, if there aren't children keeping one from working, then this one is pretty much moot and the absence of said children is a good argument against a spousal support award)
• the extent to which the supported spouse's earning capacity is impaired by periods of unemployment incurred during the marriage to permit the supported spouse to devote time to domestic duties. (This usually means children, if there are no kids to stay home and take care of, then there aren't really any domestic duties that would justify a well bodied adult male err I mean person to have been unemployed aside from laziness)
• the extent to which the supported spouse contributed to the paying spouse's attainment of an education, training, career, or license (It's usually pretty hard to make a case for spousal support when the other spouse supported you while you attained a professional license or credential for work in...say culinary arts or nursing for instance)

• both spouses' financial needs based on the marital standard of living (This usually refers to housing accommodations, vehicles, etc and is usually based on what property is owned at the time of divorce. If there is no home and only one vehicle, then this usually isn't much of a consideration)

So to recap. You can't just assume you're getting spousal support because your wife...I mean partner actually made something of herself while you chose to leach off of her, and not work for the last 4-5 years. I don't know if anyone is in that particular situation in California, but I just happened to randomly read about it today because I love to learn about random things, and share my knowledge of it on random forums.

Stuff like this is typically stay overs from the times where women largely weren't part of the work force. Basically it's to keep people from going to poverty or homelessness after a divorce if they have no marketable skills.

The bigger problem with California is the automatic 50-50 asset split regardless of what each partner originally brought to the table.

If you know who's doing it, then you had the right idea. Collect the evidence and report it all to the police, file for some sort of restraining order (is there an equivalent for online harassment?), etc...
Though it's become very hard to tell from the outside if people really are out to get you, or if you're just losing "it"...

EDIT: Oh wow, both accounts are gone, thought just TC was. Seriously, Mead, get professional help. Re-evaluate your life decisions and outlook, instead of just doubling down.

Actually it seems like mead is OP. Hence why both accounts immediately closed when they got usermap axed.

Mead was trying to garner attention, as they often did, because this board was the one place they got positive attention, no matter how they acted. Made an account to false flag themselves because they wanted that enorphine rush that their buds are usually so ready to provide. Got caught.

Hopefully they're going to be alright, but given that they never really sought a healthy way to deal with their problems, I have doubts.

I've come to the conclusion that notschmen is most likely not schmen. There are enough similarities in personalities that I presumed they were the same person from the start, but after further exposure there do seem to be personality differences that are probably genuine (at least, differences that would require a lot more subtlety than Schmen has ever been able to pull off in order to fake this convincingly). I could be wrong, but there's also absolutely no harm in being wrong in this case, so meh.
