Does everyone guess the same first word every day or just switch it up. Genuinely curious what peoples strats are for the first word

do letters ever repeat in these puzzles, or just words with no repeating letters?

They do yes. But theres no special marking for them.

So if you guess Sassy and the actual word started with an S you'd get the green box and if the word had an extra S in it it would just be yellow like any other letter.

I try and do a vowel heavy word with key consonants. Currently doing Alone as my first word

I usually mix it up. For a while I always used "FARTS" because that amused me, but I got bored of it.

The strategy would be for the first word to be something with a good amount of vowels right?

Rapid money cults hit the 15 most common letters in 5 letter words, with rapid and money also putting those 10 letters in their most common positions. so, if you are only trying to get it in 6, i think it's mathematically the best open.

but, if you want the chance at twos and threes, or are playing hard mode, there are probably better first words.

Any guess as to how many words you actually know?

For example, Shakespeare was believed to know about 66k words.

I don't have any specific starting word, I just go for whatever word comes to mind as long as it's mostly common letters
