Is it any good?

Its very good, as long as you adjust your expectations keeping in mind its a network sitcom

In comparison to?

I only saw the first 5 or 6 episodes when it first came out but I didn't like it

Watched a few shows and didn't like any characters in it. Who knows if it gets any better or not

It's decent.
The last season kind of sucks though. They try to do comedy while wearing masks. It doesn't work very well. They managed to stick the landing with the last two episodes though.

Superstore is pretty great

Superstore is solid. Like a 6-8 out of 10 throughout most of its run

I was pretty into it a couple years ago and then just lost interest in it lol

It definitely gets better after the first season.

its not an all-time great like parks and rec or even new girl, but they really flesh out the supporting cast in later seasons

America Ferrera is in this. Always liked her.

Yeah I remember the later being good, but I also never watched the final one. It was a solid show to put on while I was grinding in Disgaea at least.

Okay yeah so... I'm liking this show. It's like The Office but set in a big supermarket instead and no annoying mockumentary format. Recognizing lots of faces

Finishing up season 1 already, it's a very comfortable show to watch. The characters are all likable, no one is an outright asshole, even the overly ambitious retail worker who was being set up as "the dwight" of the place turns likable and not an asshole. Now "the dwight" seems to be Dina instead, who is assistant manager. She has her annoying moments but still no where near unlikable.

I like the main actor, I recognize him he's that one good looking dude from mad men, the one who feels sorry for don even though don doesn't think about him.

Didn't remember america ferrera's voice was so hoarse, almost like her voice might go out at any second, like a more extreme emma stone.

I did a couple of episodes of the first season, and the main dude kinda creeped me out by how possessive he was being main chick, he always followed her everywhere, complete and utter simp.

Dumb show.

I found Dina and Mateo to be annoying af. Dina had her likeable moments but Mateo was a jerk, judgemental and selfish basically the whole way.

The lead guy and America are fine, Mark McKinney as the manager Glenn is hilarious, Cheyenne and her fine ass stay fine ass.

The rest of the supporting cast gets their one or two liners every once in awhile and far more likeable than Dina and Mateo.

Also the cute girl on the show is quite adorable, it doesn't make sense that she'd be hooking up with that one nerd from the... I can't remember what nerd he plays in what movie. Maybe 21 jump street? Or superbad? Anyway he's being portrayed as the geeky white boy who's a little too into rap and trying to act "gangsta" and she's way out of his league so it's a bit weird that they're together.

I don't think her bf is supposed to be a nerd, but just like a rural area want to be rapper. I think he is supposed to be pretty popular at high school.

But... Mateo has literally helped the rest of the cast before.

I don't love Dina's archetype, but the actress is season 1 Hortense on Another Period, so she'll always make me grin.

I hated it at first, until I realised you're supposed to be laughing at Jonah, not with him.

Then the quality skyrocketed.

7.5/10 overall.

Some other guy said he got "retail ptsd" from watching this show so it must be a pretty universally similar experience

Hit and miss with me. Some jokes are funny but IMO the majority fall flat.

This is coming from somebody who works in retail too.

Even the "guy from corporate" is surprisingly tame and not cartoonishly evil. This show is pulling a lot of curveballs.

My thoughts so far: I love how bright and colorful it is, without being one of those laughtrack cbs type terrible sitcoms. It's just extremely comfortable to watch, and is a good snacky show.

It's not the best show ever, but it's pretty good.
