Difficult choice between maths and foreign languages but I went for the languages. In my school it was actually required you do a foreign language for two years, but I managed to drop it in lieu of studying both Geography and History. Apparently nobody else wanted to do both >_> but while I struggled hard with maths, I think I could have been fine if I put more work in, and I at the very least like maths now. Foreign languages? Wasn't interested in them and I was bad at them.

Foreign language. I did well in my first trimester of French then I was quickly unable to understand anything more complicated than simple words, I cheated and did all the extra credit I could to barely avoid failing until I gave up and took another class.

Here you have to do them for 5.

You're meant to do them in primary too but that doesn't really count.

iirc, I also did poorly in English, but that was because we had to read a bunch of books that I never really got to reading.

this was all well before Wikipedia or even Spark Notes.

English

Math always came easily to me, I loved history. I didnt care for biology/chemistry all that much either but being forced to write essays about shit I couldnt care less about was by far the most frustrating thing I ever had to do in school.

Math was the only class I actually got an F in, in high school. Shit sucked.

Granted, when I had a good teacher I did pretty well, but not well enough that I remember any of it.

I was a smart kid, so the only thing I had trouble with was Spanish. I'm Hispanic, but, since my parents only spoke in Spanish at parties (which I hated) and when they fought (which I hated), I grew averse to something that should have been my birthright.

Also it was fucking boring. Any other subject was in a book I could devour and retain in a few days, but Spanish is in Spanish.

Oh, also home ec, because fuck you for trying to make me pass or fail based on making a pillow. I refused out of principle.

Physics and math above advanced algebra were both very boring to me.

I actually liked math before then but then it just seemed like we were tied to graphing calculators.

Art. I'm beyond terrible at that type of creativity. My preferred type is creative concepts, ideas, world building... but drawing a pretty picture is absolutely impossible for me. And because of this, I dislike games that heavily rely on player-made creativity or custom levels. If there's a substantial amount of pre-made stuff, or I can just go and visit other player's levels, that's fine.

I'm not from the US or Canada but for me these 3 we're bad not because of the subject,but because I've barely had any classes of them:
-Math;
-Biology;
-Chemistry;
I'm from Brazil by the way.

My lowest grade was geography but it was advanced geography and I only took one class of it. Math was consistently my lowest grade. Usually a C. I excelled at clases where all I had to do was regurgitate information back like history and science. I had a perfect grading period in history once. Nothing but 100s.

Then I dropped out and went to adult high-school they had this thing where on the first day of class you took a test. You made a 100 you where dismissed from class and given a A for the course. Did that in both history classes I had to take

Math. If it ain't simple addition subtraction or multiplication I ain't so hot. Even division fucks with me sometimes

Definitely math. I just cant wrap my head around it. The basics are super easy for me because it actually makes sense to me. But shit like proofs (pRoVe ThAt ThIs iS a TrIaNgLe how about the fact that it has three sides?) makes absolutely no sense to me.

PE, IT, Biology

Never understood how someone could do poorly in PE. I've been to many schools and the grade was always based purely on participation.

I can understand least favorite

I mean you're not exactly wrong, but nowhere in the original post did I specify that what your worst class was had to be due to factors outside your control.

If it was your worst class because you made it that way, it still counts.

Broadly the maths

Specifically, Algebra followed by statistics.

Stats actually became an issue as I had to take a bunch in grad school and I was garbo at it.

I was great at English and everything in that subject came super easy to me, but the opposite can be said about math. I can perform basic math in my head but beyond that it was always a struggle. Theres too many damn rules to remember and if you got something mixed up you were screwed. I once got every answer wrong on a test because I fucked something up.

I remember getting a C in the last HS math finals I ever took even though I studied super hard for it. It was at that point I realized Ill never be good at it no matter how hard I try. Always envied those who made it look effortless.

Wasnt great at science either. Was lucky if I got an A in that subject lol

In high school our gym class you could count it as part of your GPA or you could just do it as pass/fail for the credit. If you wanted it for your average you had to do a fitness test at the end of the semester and you were graded on how many pull-ups, sit-ups, etc. you could do and how fast you ran a mile. If you were athletic it was an easy A, if not then pass/fail was the way to go, because all you had to do was participate every day (and put up with the ridicule from the athletic kids).

Different schools might be different but we had a pushing 400 lb kid who physically couldn't run and he made an A. he did what he could qnd that's all the coaches asked.

If the coaches actually expect a certain level of performance then I withdraw what I said. I've just never seen it despite moving around a lot and going to various different schools

Spanish was literally the only class I got an F in one semester, because our teacher lost his luster for teaching.

Resorted to giving a book and packers and said "Translate". The words were not in the chapters, if they bothered to name chapters.
It became "Ask your Spanish speaking friend that surely is in this classroom. Don't have one? Too bad!"

Math was hard and practically the only Cs I remember but still, not this bad.

See post 11. I absolutely know a better teacher would have made all the difference in the world with math at my school. To this day, at reunions and other gatherings, "Dr. Sanders" comes up. It was like he saw himself as a a gatekeeper. Very smart people who got MAs, Ph.d's, MBA's and other advanced degrees struggled for C's in that guys class.

Teacher does matter. As I said in my initial post history was my thing. Straight A student. My first year I made a D. This was before I found out I was capable of self teaching myself though. Eventually I discovered just give me the text book and I'm good.
