What's boring about being able to do whatever you want as long as you get your work done?

What kind of positive social interaction are you expecting from work? Save that for like, bars, clubs, or board game night or something.

I agree, WFH was a nightmare for me and I don't even consider myself a particularly social person.

Its been hard wfh nearly two years now. I miss interactions with people in the office. We used to get lunch together frequently, day drink in our office, hang out after work, talk in the coffee room... now its just constant work all the time and it can get hard to totally plug off for the day.

Not for me. I love WFH and yet I think I'm a pretty social out-going person.

IMO once a week in the office shouldn't kill anyone. I like to be able to face time with a team and at least hear what they have to say in person. It's easier to direct peoples' attention when you're sitting in the same room.

Sometimes it's necessary to make people miserable, even if that means making yourself miserable in the process.

You're free to just IM your coworkers. If they don't engage with non-work related stuff then it means you annoy them with your pointless chat irl and you should feel bad.

I am a pretty introverted dude that does not like to be social very often, but even for me WFH was hard. Both times I did it were customer service jobs, and I severely underestimated how much better those jobs are when you can just get off a call and start shit talking a bad customer to your employees sitting next to you. That and also hearing their shitty customer stories really made the day go by faster.

Agree with TC. It took me almost a year to get used to it. Now I'm good with it.

I think it's pretty great, but I understand why people don't like it. I'm social and hangout with my friends daily, or at minimum, weekly.

I don't want to be in the office and listen to people talk all day and have to get dressed up for it when I can just put on PJs and be at work in 30 seconds. I do understand though how people enjoy being out of the house.

I got to work from home for a few days last week and I loved it. I can blast my music, hang out with my cat, and still work. My home office doubles as my exercise room, and I have a trampoline in there. Whenever you feel sluggish from desk work, man, 30 seconds on that thing gets my energy flowing again. It was great.

However, I can't say I liked it that much when I had to do it fulltime back during the lockdown. I think I'd really like, maybe, a day a week or even once a month, or something like that. I'm working on it, lol.

My ideal situation is where I where I work from home, but there is an office nearby that I can optionally go into whenever Id rather work in that environment
