like did u guys ever fall for 100%ing a game?

like idk it always felt like a scam that preyed on people with a certain addiction

like those gacha games

like even now with gamefaqs having trophies

if i look at the top people
i dont even know who they fucking are

do they even post?

like getting a trophy for visiting everyday

seems odd and just a way to trap people with this to get to visit the site

If they're fun or somewhat challenging, sure.
If they're damn near impossible (think Step and Razor or Two for One from Halo 3) or a bloody long grind (Any gears game), then no.

I like them and some you have to be really good at the game to get plus it kinda gives some bragging rights among friends.

There's only been a few games where I've gotten 100% percent of the achievements though .

I like them, I'm not a completionist, but I like getting them. If I really enjoy a game, it extends the replay value working toward more achievements.

I dig trophy hunting but I know how to draw the line when it comes to multiplayer trophies or ones involving heavy grinding or anything extraordinarily difficult.

Examples:
Sure = Wolfenstein TNO, Spider-Man, Control, Soulsborne (ironically the easiest platinums), Yakuza

Nope = any Devil May Cry game requiring Hell or Hell completion, any Battlefield game, and Resident Evil

Also worth noting, on Xbox, you get a rebate the higher your gamerscore is. If you are over 60k you get a permanent 5% rebate on anything digital you purchase.

Also you can get 50 points on Microsoft rewards (~5 cents) for each day you get at least one achievement.

I tend to ignore them usually, I'll complete the achievements if it only requires one playthrough and I don't have to do anything really annoying though.

I dont tend to look at them beforehand, they pop as I progress. If I'm inspired to try for more, I'll check the achievement list and see what I can work towards.

I'm fine with them. Sucks when you have ones like Undertale where you don't even need to beat the game to platinum trophy it. But I'll take that over ones like a few rpgs that are like "spend 100 hours in battle!"

I enjoyed collecting achievements when I still olayed but there were a lot of bullshit ones that I wouldn't even bother attempting. A lot of multiplayer ones weren't worth the trouble like Gears or Guitar Hero.

Depends. I like that it will get me to do things I normally wouldn't and sometimes end up having fun with it. But if it's boring frustrating or multi-player based I ain't going out of my way for it. Think I've gotten all trophies achievements in maybe 2 or 3 games.

If its easy enough, and I already nearly get all trophies just by playing through a game normally, Ill platinum it if its not too much trouble

I agree mostly, except for tracking difficulty achievements. I finished EDF 2017 on Inferno difficulty, took over 200 hours, but having a record of that accomplishment is cool.

My best friend used to do it to me. Turns out he didn't wanna hang with another friend of mine that was always around. I was like bruh why didn't you just say so. For clarification he wasn't my best friend yet but I still liked him more than other dude.

I think they're fine when they're basically just a progression list with some challenges and some funny gimmicks. When it's just a bunch of shit like "play multiplayer for 1500 hours to achieve some pointless rank" or "repeat this one action 500 times unnaturally because you'd never use it that much in normal gameplay," then it's just being done for the sake of the system. You can have a separate system for multiplayer. You don't need a bunch of bad and pointless filler trophies. Just make them automatically obtained filler via natural progression. Easy enough.

yeah i think probably when they had online only achievements is when it was bad

I just wish single player and multilayer had separate trophy lists like how dlc trophies are separate. Cause more often than not I'm gonna like one and not the other. Like DOOM I like single player more I don't touch MP. For Honor I did thr single player campaign once and never touched it again. Halo I actually liked both but multi-player more.

But most of the time I don't touch multi-player in games. I don't like dealing with people once I'm home for the day.

"I've done it all, I'm pleased with my completion". Whereas on the Xbox or Playstation or whatever the game would be like "Well, you haven't killed 20 enemies with the spear of Kangreia yet! You call this 100%??".

On the other hand, I've definitely enjoyed some games more because of it. I've used playstyles or played and enjoyed games like Skyrim or Mass Effect in ways I otherwise wouldn't have were it not for achievements/trophies.

However, I did get the platinum trophy for every Danganronpa game, which was quite possibly the most tedious thing I've ever done, so it's a net negative overall.
