So some jaunt no one's heard of won in the end

It's like if Coke and Pepsi both died ... and RC Cola became the last one standing.

The two that I knew both became Dollar General stores. I live in the Midwest.

I can't imagine any place being more likely to hold onto physical rentals in the streaming era more than us. I'm sure there are some still out there, but I can't imagine where they are or whose still renting from them.

While we're on the subject of video rentals, what was everyone's last video rental? (Library rentals don't count since libraries haven't collectively closed down yet.)

Mine was Jordan Peele's Us (2019). I rented it just before the last Family Video in my area went under.

Did you all get the Blockbusters pushing their Netflix variant as well as trying to sell you Dish Network in store?

Apparently Family Video was the last one standing but COVID killed the business

Imagine miraculously being the only video rental store around and then a pandemic randomly puts you out of business.

We had a Hollywood within walking distance, it used to be such a treat.
Then we had a Family Video until recently.
I rented games there sometimes.
