It's hilarious the battery of shots people have to get whenever they sign or get deployed, but they draw the line at this one.

100% at the tail end of basic training, I got somewhere from 8 to 10 shots, one was the anthrax vaccine, one was penicillin, and no idea what else. Same with virtually everyone else graduating. But yeah, COVID vaccine is the DEBIL!

People need to understand how many individuals join the military, enlist for 4+ years, and realize a few months in it isn't for them, but you can't just quit. This is an easy out for sooo many that don't want to serve their term.

And no, a dishonorable discharge is not a death sentence on a job application.

I feel the exact same way, which is why these monsters need to be stopped. It's short term "pain" to make them unemployable, but what they are doing is more harmful to others and the greater of the two evils. I'd rather they never get a job again and live a life of misery than even one innocent person catch covid from them and die or suffer from long term lung and heart damage.

i did. anti-vaxxers causing long term health problems or death for others is a worse "permanent scar with no way back" than some evil bastard becoming unemployable. if you truly believed what you said you would be supporting vaccine mandates to protect others.

Nah those are generally the equivalent of felonies for serious crimes. Other than honorable discharge should be the max for something like refusing the shot. The good thing is quite a few people are losing their options to retire and pull a pension because they picked now to be dumb.

I was referring to a person that said it should be dishonorable discharge. That's to much for something like this. There are also people that are playing this game late in their career and losing the opportunity to retire and get a pension. I say this because I've known of a few people that figured they could ride it out and get their way but played their hand poorly.

There's still time to get the vaccine. They haven't ejected anyone yet so those guys can still change their mind.

I'm in the Air Force. They started before the Army. They had ample time to change their mind. Some use it as a easy out of the military and not all are out yet but its started for us.

Weird argument when a lot of the anti-vaxxers believe Republicans without question.

I guess this goes into how a lot of people view "the government" as a slur against politicians that don't agree with them rather than it's real actual meaning.

Idk if someone has already said this but I'll give some perspective as someone who did actually serve in the army: I would bet money the vast majority of these people refusing the vaccine are not anti vax or anything like that, they literally just don't want to be in the Army anymore and this is likely a lot easier way to get discharged compared to repeatably failing a PT test or breaking weight standards, getting medically discharged etc.

This is pretty common and while anecdotal I did know 6~ or so guys who deliberately failed PT tests just to get kicked out and I guarantee you if the COVID military vaccine mandate was around when they were discharged they would have just not gotten vaccinated to get out. The military isnt for everyone and a lot of people dont realize they dont want to be in until like a year or two of service.
