I only just got reminded of smart watches when I saw someone use it the other day. Which I hardly do anymore. The person was getting multiple WhatsApp messages or something and every time he raises his wrist, and pulls up his sleeve slightly to view them on his watch. It looked pretty stupid imo.

I use a foldable screen phone and it is the best thing ever. It's like having a tablet that folds into a regular phone size. I could never go back to a regular phone.

I got the Samsung smartwatch a few years back. Only wore it like 2 months then couldn't be bothered to keep charging it even for using it purely for time telling.

Biggest waste of 300.

I use mine all the time, to track my workouts, send and read texts, and to read notifications. Also, it can tell me if Im in a-fib.

Theyre good for people that work out and it helps them check whos calling and notifications without having to grab your phone. Its great for people who cant be seen with their phone out at work too.

Where do you live that you see them all the time? I've literally never seen anyone use one.

Whenever I see a doctor or go to the hospital , it seems like everyone is wearing an Apple Watch. And I see them all the time when I am exercising out on the trail.

Yeah, I never considered them even remotely to be a flop. I wear one regularly, most people I know wear one and I see them all the time.

But that's it though - a lot of people don't actually "use" their smartwatch because much of what they do is automated.

I have a Galaxy Watch and it's something that for the most part you set and forget. Health/sleep monitoring, exercise tracking, calls and texts, fall detection, and even pressure alerts are all mostly passive features that don't necessarily require you to do anything. I can place a call on my watch or actively text from it independent of my phone, but I'll only do that in a pinch.

There are like 7 workouts I can do that the watch will automatically track and document without me needing to do anything. Those are the kinds of features that I love.
