What does your argument have to do with anything that I said?

I never said anything about it being wrong to be angry about the death and danger surrounding you. It's about your actions and your behavior towards others that I am criticizing. What you do with your anger is up to you.

You can go through a trauma, react to others in an emotional way based on that trauma, and simply not be doing anything productive. You're just trying to attack people.

You aren't the only one who is angry. You also aren't the only one acting as you have and not everyone who is angry like you is acting that way.

So what I'm saying is. I never disagreed with the emotion of anger, but the reactions and justification for those reactions based upon it. You made an extremely long post detailing the unpleasantness of dying of covid and it simply was not an appropriate response to the arguments I was making.

Well the first thing Biden could have done was not blatantly lie about what the size of the stimulus payments would be after he got elected. He didn't add the footnote that the total he advocated would be the sum of his stimulus payment combined with Trump's final stimulus check.

He didn't cancel any student debt.

These are both significant economic decisions that reduced people's abilities to self isolate. A major problem with the pandemic is poor people with bills to pay and no proper sick leave.

We could've used more stimulus payments.

We didn't get free N-95s and at home covid tests either available for shipping or pickup until very recently.

Testing capacity and hospital capacity both could have been much better.

The CDCs decision to announce that masks were no longer needed for vaccinated individuals was a big misstep especially in retrospect with omicron. This wasn't Biden's fault, as the CDC was responsible for this, but I felt like mentioning it anyways. I don't think it would have taken a brain surgeon to tell you that the effect of the CDC announcing that meant anti mask/vax people would be able to go maskless much more easily.

This is off the top of my head. There's more detail behind a lot of these.

Biden certainly is far from being like Ron DeSantis in his violation of basic covid precautions, but he still hasn't been good enough.

You can generally be pro.covid precautions and still do a bad job of implementation and timely execution.

just canceling student loan debt isnt going to let people quit their jobs. It might let people actually live on their own instead of with roommates but everyone would still be working. Too many jobs were essential and all those essential jobs require dozens of other businesses to be open in order to operate properly

that many N-95 masks literally dont exist. I work in healthcare and we had to save our N-95 masks at least a week or two unless they break for the whole first year of the pandemic. Same with nurses and doctors reusing PPE. You know that stuff is supposed to be thrown out after every patient right, not reused? Literally every hospital in the country would be violating multiple health codes if they were doing this 3 years ago. Same with tests. And the government cant force companies to make certain things to give to the populace because that would be communism.

and about hospital capacity. When a hospital is out of beds that doesnt mean they have empty rooms with no beds. It means every bed has a person in it and there is literally no room to put more beds. Thats why people were in hallways. So unless you want to make every hospital bigger which is basically impossible since theyre all in populated areas, the solution to that problem is to have less unvaccinated people going to the hospital.

yeah the CDC mask flip flopping is dumb Ill give you that but their decision was 100% financially and politically influenced

the time to increase production and be proactive was 2 years ago but we had a president who did the exact opposite and left Biden a giant pile of shit to clean up. All Trump had to do was make MAGA masks and he could have made a billion dollars and minimized covid and been re-elected but hes a terrible businessman.

Covid has killed 1 in every 366 US citizens.

You didn't address the part where Biden lied about the amount of the Stimulus payment that happened very early in his presidency.

He has to work with Congress to get more stimulus packages sent out, but that doesn't mean he gets a pass for not getting it done.

The guy has a slight lean in Congress and he can't quite get all of the Democrats on board. That is a huge part of this problem.

Biden can cancel all student loan debt immediately all on his own or even cut some of it and he hasn't. I feel you're really downplaying the effect this has on people. It's not about being able to afford not working. It's about being able to afford time to isolate instead of work when you're had exposure. People can't be economically punished for needing to isolate when you've been exposed. That isn't going to help control the pandemic.

You addressed the masks, but it took a year into his presidency for these masks to get out. You addressed the first year, but that was the Trump presidency and that is on him. Biden has been office for a year now.

You never addressed at home covid tests or testing capacity in general.

Increasing hospital capacity is generally a long term solution, but there is a lot that can be done in the immediate term to give boosts to it here and there. Field hospitals and other temporary facilities for one. Financial incentives for healthcare workers would certainly help too. A big part of the capacity concern is workers to attend to patients.

A lot of the current messaging on N-95s seems a tad muddled as now that is mostly what they're recommending when cloth masks were considered plenty fine for a long time. CDC needs to just shoot straight with people on the usefulness of these things and understand that ever changing guidelines can decrease trust in further guidance. Remaining consistent perhaps leaning more cautiously may lead to better compliance.

Biden is far from the only person to blame and far from the person most to blame, but the point still stands that his administrations handling of covid has left plenty to be desired.

There can be factors well outside Biden's control that are negatively influencing how this country handles the pandemic and Biden can also be pretty underwhelming in his handling of this crisis. He does in fact wield some political power as the President after all.....
