I don't ever want to be a parent. I also want to have casual sex and would like to have as many precautions against unwanted pregnancy as possible.

Had to shave my junk.

$650 out of pocket, including 3 month follow up to make sure I'm sterile.

650 dollars sounds like a great deal for not having to worry about unintentionally impregnating anyone.

Procedure was fast and easy. There was some awkwardness because I got a bopner when the nurse was prepping me. It's been so long since anyone touched my junk that it just happened, no matter how much I thought about baseball.

Icing my junk now. Feels like those first few seconds after getting hit in the junk only it's persistent. Not too bad though, for now.

Thanks.

It was the no scalpel method, whatever that entails. I think there is a stitch though and some glue.

Nope. My genes are trash.

Yeah it's pretty good, best deal I could find.

If you live in a red state, you might want to get on it. I live in Texas and made this appointment in December. The wait is even longer now. I suspect it's because the threats to Roe v Wade have people scrambling to get it done but I'm not basing that on much. It's a big part of why I did it though.

Any tips besides what they already told me? Can I take the metro (subway) after, will I be ready, or should I call an uber?

I paid $35 for mine. Just a specialist copay and that's it. It was cheap because I had an "in office" procedure with a HMO insurance plan.

Thanks. There are a lot of reasons I don't want to have kids and the environmental impact was probably the least important one but still important stacked on top of all the others. Don't see myself ever adopting either though because my overall stability is fragile. Never know where life takes us though.

They covered everything pretty well in the material they sent me when I made the appointment. There wasn't anything unexpected.

I took a Lyft both ways and didn't have any issues.

The actual procedure didn't. The numbing spray they use is administered by some kind of contraption that feels like a series of rubber band snaps. One of the early ones hit me square on the right one and that hurt but the numbing kicked in and I didn't feel too many of them. I didn't even know when he actually started and it was over in probably not even 20 minutes.

I'm having some pain and swelling now though that otc stuff isn't really helping. I'm icing and I took some tylenol. They gave me a prescription for something stronger but I generally do not handle prescription pain reliever well so I might just ride it out.

My premiums shot up so I just canceled my insurance. The price of two months plus copay would've exceeded what I paid out of pocket.

Feb. 26 will be a year since I had mine done. That shit definitely hurt lol. The doctor would say "this parts gonna hurt" and then it totally did but it was over fairly quickly. 45 minutes total I think. One daughter. I love her dearly. Total accident lol

I pay $170 a month for my premiums, but I have an HMO where I have to do everything in network. It's actually convenient for me, since I'm somewhat healthy and I don't have to see lots of specialists. I am 40 though, so I definitely need insurance, just in case.

Kinda weird to ask, but could you detail your first post-procedure orgasm?

Did you have the no scalpel method? That's why I went with this method over the traditional one. I'm not averse to acute pain if it's worth it but I heard good things about this one and they were accurate.

Oh, my insurance was dog shit and when my premium almost quadrupled, I just said fuck it. The emergency room coverage was nice but I simply couldn't afford it anymore, even with the tax credits.

A vasectomy just cuts the tube that the sperm uses to travel from the testes to the storage area where it meets all the other fluid from different organs. Still expel semen, just no more sperm passengers after I've cleared whatever remaining ones out.

Can't spank it for a week unfortunately :(

it's some BS. insurance companies have no problem taking in money but refuse to help out when one wants a procedure or treatment. hopefully heals fast on procedure.

Thanks. I feel pretty good about it.

I'm still a little sore today but only when I move a certain way, so I'm still just taking it easy. It's not as persistent as it was but it's killing me not being able to exercise because the weather is absolutely perfect this week.

I've got perpetual post-kicked-in-the-balls feeling. It's not just in the junk itself but I feel it in the abdominal area. Ended up taking the prescription painkillers and called the doc just to be sure. Said it's normal and goes away for most people by the end of the first week but could last up to three. Just caught me off guard because I felt a lot better yesterday and woke up today like x_x. Might have done something in my sleep though. I don't know.
