Here we go with the second part (technically third).

So the Latest news from Sakurazaka46, looks like Watanabe Risa and Harada Aoi are graduating. This news has come out right after Moriya Akane and Watanabe Rika have graduated.

This was a huge blow to me personally since Risa was one of the first and favourite idols I ever started to love when I first got interested in Jpop back in 2018 and when they were called Keyakizaka46 with all the original members. We barely have many 1st gen members in Sakurazaka46 now. And now there are rumours that Sugai Yuuka, the captain, may be graduating soon too. She recently opened an Instagram account so that might be in preparation of her moving on?

Dammit I feel Nostalgic now.

I first found out about Keyakizaka46 when I was randomly watching a TV show on Prime called "who killed daigoro tokuyama?". It featured a class of 21 girls trying to solve the murder of their teacher. The suspense was pretty good throughout.

I realized all the girls looked a bit too Idol-like to just be actresses. So I looked them up. Realized that Yurina Hirate (Loved her performance in the show, she is so cool) was part of a music group. "Oh cool" I thought, and started to look up the rest of them.

Little did I know, ALL of them were part of the same group. All 21 girls. The only other group I knew which did something like this was AKB48, I had never heard of the Sakamichi 46 groups before this.

So then I looked them up on Youtube and saw some of their music, Silent Majority and Fu kyouwaon (Seriously Gamefaqs? I can't write that word?). I fell in love with the style.

Aimer on The First Take. Her voice is something out of this world. She's amazing.

So I've been thinking, a lot of my favourite members from the 1st Gen of Sakurazaka46 are gone/leaving. This includes Risa, Yurina, Neru, Moriya ect. The only ones left that I truly love are Koike, Sugai and maybe Habu and Kobayashi.

Koike Minami is probably my favourite now that Risa is leaving. She reminds me a lot of my girlfriend as well. From looks to mannerisms, not to mention they are both Kansai girls lol.

Gonna miss her, the day for the rest of the 1st gen girls graduating is slowly creeping closer. I saw the other day that there were rumours of Saito Asuka from Nogizaka46 graduating soon. It really put into perspective how long the Nogizaka46 1st gen girls have been in their group compared to the Keyakizaka/Sakurazaka girls.

Risa, who looked up to Asuka, is already graduating after being in her respective group from around 2016, so 5 years. But Asuka is still in her group and has been since their formation back in 2011/2012.

Just probably another sign of the amount of mis-management that took place behind the scenes with Keyakizaka46. Ever since Imaizumi left in 2018, it just domino'd from there and with Yurina's withdrawal in 2020 (She was their freaking center, their number 1) dealing a huge blow to the group.

BUT, that isn't to say the 2nd gen girls don't have promise. As a matter of fact, they seem to be even stronger than the 1st gen girls in some ways. I have a few favourites here:

Oozono Rei

Probably one of the most beautiful members to join the group. Seriously, she probably even rivals Shiraishi Mai for me. And I love her mystique personality she has whenever she comes on 'Soko Magattara, Sakurazaka?'. I've noticed both the MC's Sawabe and Tsuchida rarely ever roast her compared to the other members. Probably because she has that aura; trying to roast someone like her on TV probably won't effect her. I think first and foremost, she might be my favourite out of the 2nd gens, but then there are a LOT of other good members so we'll see how it goes.

Morita Hikaru

I LOVE her antics on their variety shows. Also her laugh is amazing. She was one of the first centers within the 2nd generation alongside Karin and Ten, and her dance skills are pretty good. She has a huge presence when on the stage and in MV's, and some people even compared her to the previous center, Yurina. Especially in one of the recent MV's where her hair and mannerisms was almost like a homage to her.

In terms of skill, ability and presence in the group, shes a great pick.

Karin Fujiyoshi

Probably one of the more cooler members of the groups (Since Risa and Shida). She has this type of silent presence about her. She definitely has a playful side towards the other members but almost never shows it on camera willingly lol.

I think she has the ability to shine throughout if she keeps at it. Also, I absolutely LOVED her center position in 'Naze Koi wo Shite Konakkatan Darou'. Her facial experessions and dance skills were amazing. Probably my absolute favourite song and MV of theirs since they rebranded so far.

Ten Yamasaki

She was the youngest member of all the Sakamichi groups from what I know, even younger than Yurina when she first started.

So it was surprising that she was put in as the first three rotation centers of the group in 2nd gen. At first, I didn't see why, but after watching her perform and on their shows, she is constantly maturing and bettering herself. Based on her dance moves, I'd probably rank her near the top.

Its also lovely to see her look up to Risa as some sort of older sister. Both of them are really tight and you can see it whenever they do their thing on camera. Once Risa leaves I hope she can cope with everything, since it looks like she leans on her a lot. She even admitted once on the show that she wished she had an older sister :(

Tamura Hono

Wow. So uh, I have a few things to say about her. She's a really cute member. Thought she was going to be like maybe Uemura or Suzumoto; more reserved but talented nonetheless. She was certainly talented. But geezus, out of nowhere when she came out with her photobook, it was much more provocative than I thought. The last member that shocked me like this was Imaizumi.

Her photobook is freaking hot. She jumped up so many places for me personally >_>. There are so many gravure photos in that book, I really need to order me one to add to my collection. She has an amazing body and her lips are so cute.

She was also the fourth member in the 2nd gen to have a center in one of their most hyper, energetic MV's to date. I freaking LOVE it:

She really did creep up towards the number one spot.

There are a lot of other 2nd gen members I haven't covered. But writing this in the end has made me realize there are two girls here who will probably be my favourites.

And it is out of Tamura Hono and Oozono Rei.

Endou Hikari

Last one. She is actually pretty under-rated in my opinion. The reason for this is because of her lack of interaction whenever they are on camera. However I really believe Endou has talent. I've seen the live shows she has been a part of and she always sticks out, even when she's in the second or third row.

She is also beautiful. I Love her looks and style. I really hope she would come out of her shell more and not become another Uemura Rina (Not an insult, but Uemura is who she is). I know we'll see more of her soon and I can't wait.

How have these two girls not done a collaboration yet? Daoko and Reol are two of the best Japanese rappers I've ever had the pleasure of listening to. They go so fucking hard.

I swear if they ever collaborated the world would implode. They are total beasts and I love their music, style, attitudes, voices, ugh!

This group always holds a special place in my heart. The fact that I know almost all the girls makes it an even bigger shame they broke up the way they did.

Even though they've split into different groups I'll still follow them. Once I head to japan I'll be sure to see them again.

So many reasons.

Korean style differs hugely from Japanese style. The culture too.

A lot of people would say Korean entertainment looks mostly processed and too glamourized. The fact that theres a huge monopoly on Kpop music doesn't help.

Some people also dislike the fact that Korea is so heavily ingrained in the plastic surgery market. Of course girls do this in other countries as well, Korea has the highest rate per capita which turns a lot of people off.

Some people love the idea of Japanese idols not being as talented as Korean idols. Of course there are talented J-idols out there, but the thought of watching an idol grow from being a small-time untrained dancer/singer into a massive pop legend really attracts people (Think Shiraishi Mai, or more Recently Hirate Yurina).

Of course, bringing this topic up itself is kinda annoying for me. I absolutely hate the rivalry between Japanese and Korean fans. Theres been numerous times Korean fans have raided Japanese idol streams to verbally insult them (Even to the point of tears in some instances).

But personally I just think Japanese girls are much more attractive than Korean girls. Their language sounds better too. I also love that there are so many underground groups out there now.

Again, this is personal opinion and you can love what you want. Not to say Korean idols aren't cute or talented because they sure are. I just prefer the Japanese industry much more.

Also you say "you guys" but its really just me posting in this topic (with the few odd posters here and there). I don't even think other users visit this topic lol.

I've been tracking this topic since the last. I just don't really have anything to contribute. The closest I've ever gotten to being into idols is Love Live music. In terms of non-idols, I think Rina Hashimoto is hot <_<
