Mostly because it's fucking annoying how going down fitness rabbit holes is now polluting my YouTube algorithm with Joe rogan, Jordan peterson and other right wing content.

These guys (and others) are obsessed with classic male archetypes. They unironically use terms like alpha soyboy and cuck. They are obsessed with "low T liberals", etc.

Half the strongmen are right wing as fuck. Robert Oberst who seems(ed) like the nicest guy ever is a staunch anti vaxer and poses with dead game for sport frequently. Brian Shaw ripped down his Arnie poster because thr guy suggested that we should all get vaccinated.

Like fucking hell is it impossible to just lift weights and not act like your personality is rambo

I saw part of a video of tim Poole making fun of the try guys for having low T levels. Which I thought was funny as fuck considering Tim Pool has the physique of someone who would pass out trying to climb a flight of stairs.

Some of them only have enough brain power to focus only on themselves.

Its not that physically fit people are more conservative, its more likely that conservative people are insecure about their bodies and seek validation through the internet.

The major conservative talking heads like to think they got their by hard work, dedication, and self improvement which is hallmarks of being in good physical shape. They like to hear that

Red states also have higher obesity rates.

Conservative = hierarchies. In line with fitness.

There are different types of being "fit" than being jacked. A lot of those guys, even if they are fit, aren't necessarily healthy given how much bad broscience surrounds that culture. I feel like endurance, cycling, hiking, rock climbing, etc. tend to skew more left.

I doubt there is a huge trend in reality though, people of different fitness levels come from all over the spectrum. The right wing skew in places like YouTube is because conservative men tend to have more fragile masculinity, and things like being physically strong are given a lot of value. Even if you're a left wing lifter, lifting isn't really part of your political identity

Conservatives are more likely to overcompensate for whatever masculine insecurities they have by bulking up. It's not that most fit people are conservative but that most people obsessed with fitness are conservative, and those are the dudes spam watching YouTube exercise vids and alt-right personality vids.
