It seemed to be for the first post itself (at least, that's the only one that was moderated). My best guess is that, despite the quotes around a certain word + the post later in the topic very clearly explaining it, they didn't realise I was not actually pushing that claim; merely referencing that misinformation spreaders often believe it. Of course we all know that once a moderation is made, mods will double down on it no matter what, but I'd be willing to bet that had the mod in question been paying attention in the first place, that topic would not have been moderated at all, let alone with a suspension.

I did have two other moderations (edit: earlier version of this post said "two warnings", but one was an NKL), which were under the same category this was modded under (but a category which doesn't remotely apply to this moderatoin itself, and seems to have been picked solely to justify a harsher punishment); one of them was a warning where in hindsight I really did not do a good job of wording my point and I can see why it got modded; while the other one was an NKL where they've completely misinterpreted the post (and indeed, doubled down on their misinterpretation when I contested it).

At any rate I made a Hellhole topic. I doubt I'll get anything beyond the usual "we know what you're thinking better than you do" (without much explanation of what they think I'm thinking) but hey, it's there, we'll see how it goes.

What topic did you get modded in though? I saw you call out Hummer 2 in a topic about someone worried about a shit they took and iirc you said something about Hummer being anti vaxx but it did not seem even nkl-worthy (edit: forgot to specify this is based on the OP's edit if that wasn't clear)

Nah, it wasn't that one. It was my own topic (under the Trumble username, of course). Like Goats said, easy enough to find on "that site" if you want to see exactly what was said, I'm not even sure if my Hellhole topic goes too far on repeating it and you know how mods will look for any excuse for further moderation when they're being called out for bullshit moderations.

Like... Besides, my last moderation before this one is solid proof that mods won't back down if they've got even the slightest possibility they can justify it. I alluded to an accuastion against a certain high-profile, non-GameFAQs-using individaul, in a topic created by a moderator about that very same accusation. Nowhere did I claim the accusation was actually true (unlike many others in the same topic, who did not get moderated); I just made reference to it. And got modded for "making unproven accusations". It was upheld.

you may be right. I'm not sure. The last downgraded suspension I got was a few years ago and it was a generated non-post one (so it would not have been disputable anyway) so in that regard, I don't know for sure how things work.

It's not. The most favorable plausible explanation for the mods is that they were only half-paying attention and didn't get the point of the post. My gut feeling though is that this was the work of a certain well-known antivaxxer mod, especially with it being moderated under "Offensive" rather than the "Trolling" category that would be used for disinformation, for which the only logical explanation is that they can justify a suspend on that one because I already had prior moderations for Offensive (but none for Trolling).

Either that or they're just looking for any excuse because I was one of the people calling the admins out over purg'ing instead of banning Kyoryu a while back.

50/50. It's not a violation to question moderations on Hellhole (or anywhere else where it isn't Off-Topic, other than MBH or ATM), and I went to extreme lengths in that post to make it very, VERY clear I was not supporting any disinformation.

But you know what mods are like when they get called out. They don't always need a valid reason.

The one thing that's undeniably wrong in your post, is that this account isn't "new" lol. It's been around since Sep 2021, and has over 50 karma (never lost any via moderations on it; I just kinda got bored of it so don't use it that much anymore).

It seems to be pretty common in general. I've referenced it myself before, y'kno, the whole "this person is an asshole, no wait, I meant the other guy" (obviously with the flame ultimately aimed at myself).

That's funny, usually within this timeframe a moderator shows up to reveal whatever the person in question "isn't telling everyone" and/or explain the obscure unwritten rule that we were just meant to magically know.

Of course, I suppose that's a lot harder to do when I'm being literally as open as I can without breaking the ToU about what the post in question was (and on top of that, people in the know can easily verify the exact words - including replies - for themself), and that the "obscure rule" if there is one would be "you are not allowed to draw attention to the hypocrisy and inconsistency in anti-vaxx ideology".

If you want to talk about vaccines other than the covid one; while I don't bother with the flu shot personally, I have an extremely low opinion of people who spread bullshit about it. To the best of my knowledge I've had all the routine ones - though admittedly most of them were when I'd have been too young to remember beyond a general "I got some kind of vaccine" - and I'd get the flu one too without any issue if I fell under a mandate, or heck, probably even just if it was free (where I live it's only free if you're 65+ or high risk).

To add to this, one of my past (long since cleared off my history) moderations was because the mods felt I was too harsh in what I said should happen to those who refuse to get vaccinated against covid without a valid reason. I won't repeat the exact words for obvious reasons, but if you really want to dig it up I'm sure you know where to go.

Nah, I've seen plenty of cases where the person really is leaving out a critical detail that justifies it. But also just as many where the mods basically pull a new rule out of their ass.

What's unusual is that usually, within the amount of time this topic has been up, they've usually done one or the other.

For starters, why would someone who actually believes, and is trying to push, the narrative about it being a bioweapon, put the word bioweapon in quotes? That's basically the number one way to imply you don't actually agree with the use of a particular word in a given context (but, to explain a step further, that you are referencing the fact that someone else does).
