Texas Furniture Tycoon, Jim "Matress Mack" McIngvale, who is known for making big wagers to cover his free giveaway promotions is betting big once again on Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals to win the Superbowl tomorrow after placing 4.5 million wager on the underdogs to beat the LA Rams.

The AFC Champion Bengals are +170 on the money line which would yield out a payout of 7.7 million for him if they win.

The 70 y/o made the bet to hedge against his promotion to fully reimburse customers who spend more than 3000 at his Gallery Furniture locations before Sunday's game

The renowned gambler had to cross into Louisiana to place the big bet since gambling is illegal in Texas.

He's worth an estimated 300 million who said "i'm not nervous, i'm excired about the cincinnati bengals winning that big game. I've lost so many big bets in a row, i'm bound to win one sometime and this is going to be it"

He hasn't had a good history with bets as the devouted Houston Astros fan lost more than 3 million betting his hometown would win the world series against he braves and in 2019 and lost 3.5 million when the Astros would defeat he dodgers.

This year he already lost 2 million on a bet that the Patriots would win the super bowl

he did win 3.46 million last year when he took 3.5 points and picked Tom Brady and the Bucaneers to win Superbowl LV. He didn't even need the points as the Bucs routed Kansas City 31-9 for Brady's 7th Superbowl Ring.

The Rams are a 4 point favourite to win tomorrow.

McIngvale is excited to give his customers a chance to win big on home furniture saying he hopes customers get a free matress and recliners and promises to make the bet even higher if sales go up in his store who said "it's going to be fun either way"

A Boston-area furniture company did this with the Red Sox for a few years and one year the Sox actually won. It's not as much of a big deal as it sounds though.

I forget how it worked exactly but from what I recall the furniture company was insured against, or otherwise financially protected from, the loss. Wouldn't be surprised to find out that this Texan dude has a similar arrangement
