That's exactly what this is. It's astounding how many degens are circle jerking with glee, they don't care that someone died they just want to guffaw and make unfunny jokes about it.
Had Gina Carrano capped a dude on the set of Mandalorian they'd be talking about "well 30 yrs ago that person stole a candy bar and used Mary Wanna! That's what happens! Thank God Gina kept us safe! Oh and they were probably a pedophile too!"

Dude already looks like he hasnt slept since the incident. Poor guy.

Every gun is always loaded, no matter what. That's the rule you should be following when handling guns 100% of the time. Baldwin was competely sure the gun wasn't loaded, and somebody died because he didn't check it.

Im not getting in to the whole baldwin argument, but this is what I was always taught. From family and in firearm safety courses.

The prop director is supposed to clear the firearms. An actor is supposed to follow orders.

If the actor modifies the gun in any way then the prop director needs to take it away and clear it again.

The rules vary by production company so sometimes two people are required to clear it.

It may not be Alec's fault but do you think it affected him enough he'd be willing to settle before it gets anywhere?

This applies in most cases, but in a work environment where you have someone who isnt expected to have firearm experience, the responsibility lies with whoever is overseeing it (armourer and whoever hired the armourer)

consider a scenario where some children are taken to a gun safety day or something, and handed real guns with live ammo. whoever gave the kids real guns is at fault for what happens next and not the kids

Those rules either dont apply or are always getting broken when on a film set.

Theres scenes of people pointing guns at each other, hostages with guns pointed directly on their head, hundreds if not thousands of scenes across film & television the last 100 or so years.

i would have assumed that those would be immitation guns myself. i dont understand why they had a real gun

I assume for authenticity.

I think the bigger problem was that there was real ammunition on set and others were target practicing with the prop gun earlier that day.

Its more about the anti gun crowd not understanding that if Baldwin knew the basic of firearm safety this wouldn't even be a topic right now

I don't think the anti gun crowd is very vocal here. "Guns don't belong in movies" isn't exactly their viewpoint.
