Yeah even some of the $25 ones aren't bad at all. We have a bunch of cheap wired ones for when the kids come over and they are definitely useable.

I read about it yesterday I think, that's a harsh sentence, figured it would be closer to 5-10 and a big fine and probation or something.

That wasn't the only thing she did I don't think apparently her and her husband had been doing other stuff with kids for years.

And of course it's Livingston Parish, I don't think there's an area of the state that has a higher concentration of batshit insane and trashy people than LP. Not even exaggerating just about everyone I've met and known from Denham or Walker doesn't play with a full deck. French Settlement has their crazies too but it's a little more dialed down than the rest of the parish. My future wife is from there lol

I got one dude that buys a $30 vape a couple times a week and always gives me $40 and says keep the change. Other than that, I don't get tipped much here.

There an awesome dude who's just a giant of an older fellow who doesn't always tip but at least once a week he does and its usually around 8 bucks.

One time he bought a 32 dollar case of beer and gave me a 50 and told me keep it. I actually felt awkward trying to express my gratitude. Lol.

Some other dude I always thought was an asshole actually tipped me almost 8 bucks once too and said sorry for always being drunk.

Nah. But before that town hobo guy died he would hang out in the parking lot and ask for shots from people leaving.

Theres this one guy who is hilarious hes always flustered over the lack of warm orange breezes because he is super over the top against the chill charge.

He comes up to the counter ranting about it every time and every time I tell him it doesn't matter ill take the chill charge off. I even told him that if you ask to have the chill charge removed literally every single store will do it. I think it may even be a law that you can't charge it to someone who asks for it to be removed.

But nonetheless I have a good few minutes of chat with him about how chill charges should be illegal and he wants warm orange breezers so he doesn't get the chill charge that he never gets charged anyways.

Chat isn't really the right word.

Before I worked at this place (I've lived next door to it and bought booze there for 6 years or so) there was this insane guy who would spend hours just sitting or pacing in the parking lot and asking people for a beer or money or weed or any other drugs... I used to give him a few bucks and then one day I found out my mom had run into him and she apologized and said all she has is her debit and she's just going in for a bottle of wine and he swore at her a bunch so I never gave the fucker shit again.

Hes schizophrenic so I have some sympathy but also anyone who gets aggressive with my mom... no.

I had so much dread about working retail and heard so many horror stories before I started this job and there's been some shit but mostly people are awesome.

That said...

Since the convoys I've totally stopped bothering about masks. Its like some weird subset of micro dicks and horrible women have felt so emboldened by honking horns they feel like fucking with a random retail worker is proving shit. Like an odd amount of people genuinely think refusing to wear a mask and insisting on not leaving till you sell them shit is making a point of some kinda of value.

On the one hand I feel bad because if a violation is reported or proven the owners can get a 5k fine and they're good people. On the other hand if I actually still tried to get people to put masks on or refuse service the way shit is currently id fucking go someone. I would 100% genuinely either have someone fight me or have someone do something where I just lost it.

Like I'm not gonna say everyone supporting the convoy is bad cause I know some awesome guys who do but holy shit I feel like a majority of them are just fucked. That's not a political statement. I mean as a retail worker the people who come in and feel passionate about it are largely just angry as fuck about something probly unrelated and also insane. Like I've been asked about the jab repeatedly and I say I have it cause I'm gonna be working for the interior health authority and I have to... and holy shit like its only 3 or 4 people but also 3 or 4 different people told me every jab and every booster contains the variants and that's how it keeps evolving because the government is like Russian roulleting the vax between water and updated covid so they can draw put control.

I feel bad for young kids in retail I couldn't deal with that shit if I wasn't old and beyond caring.

For me, only time customer service was unbearable was working the customer service desk at Kroger in Atlanta. A third of the customers were shitbags trying to scam something. It's so different here.

Last night she wanted to try a race or two and we wound up doing 6 sets of 4, she loved it. She pretty consistently finished 1st to 5th, easy COM.

The thing I loved most about it was just walking around and taking all the nature stuff in. It looked beautiful. That's not to say the rest of the game was meh. I really liked it. But my god it looked so good.

I loved Primal as well. Had so much fun with that one.
And I even have 2 laying around somewhere, but I never played it.
