Elon and Bezos are gods among men and deserve to only pay 1% tax rate while we are all bad people and should be paying 30% of everything we make!

Also, deny any assistance programs because that is handouts! (while taking their money via taxes to subsidize the rich)

the thing about this is that the total amount of money raised will be such a minuscule drop in the bucket compared to what raising taxes on the rich by like 1% would do. then you compare the impact each tax increase has on the lives / families affected and it seems so incredibly obvious that the people who support this are just inhuman monsters.

People against assistance programs and raising the taxes on the super wealthy who only pay effectively like 1-3% (as opposed to 20% a normal person does) often have a deep resentment or hatred for the poor. Why? I don't know. Perhaps the narrative has been drilled through their head that the poor are keeping them down from being uber wealthy which is so ironic.

I always liked a flat tax rate. If you make 1000 dollars this month pay 100 if you make 10k pay 1000. Maybe not exactly those numbers but you get what I mean. I'm fine with those below the poverty line being exempt though. If they are gonna require tax money funded programs why make them pay taxes?

Define what income levels you consider poor/middle/rich and lets see what the numbers say

Also the topic is about taxes on poor people so how tf was this a "pivot"

Marco Rubio ten years ago said we are a nation of "haves and soon-to-haves".

The lie told to conservatives is that if they're not wealthy then that wealth is coming. Whether by trickle down or by removing people "stealing" the wealth of Americans. And of course they bought in.

In this case "Americans" is code for "white people" and the "people stealing" are immigrants or basically any POC.

Yea. The idea is the government or someone just hands them the job, but they are lazy and don't work on it, but that is ok because welfare, socialism or something.

All you're doing is emphasizing why billionaires should pay more taxes. According to your own words, you could eliminate the taxes of over a million people for a lifetime and have a billionaire easily pay it instead by doubling his taxes for just one year, the poor people would then have a tremendous burden lifted from them while the billionaire's life would be unaffected. And yet you somehow think this proves proves billionaires are already taxed enough? That's insane, man.

Everyone has the freedom to buy what they want within the law and that includes plenty of things they don't need. Do we need restrictions on what can be bought based on someone's income?
