Domestic policy was mostly missed opportunity, foreign policy was bad but at the same time kind of a holding pattern that was afraid to deviate too far from Bush. Clinton- Worse than Obama in most ways. As eager as bush was to dive back into the middle east Clinton stoked that conflict happily before he got there, and his support of economic deregulation policies that had been getting worse and worse since reagan set us up to fail in 2008 Trump- A pretty confusing presidency because despite the emotional reaction from people who just started caring about politics in like 2012, a lot of what Trump did that was bad were pretty quiet. As far as Republicans go, they should have loved him less for him being a shithead and more because he was extremely good at getting everyone to cry about his tweets while his administration quietly deregulated, stacked courts, and in general made Republicans far more electable in the future than he would have been previously. Did a ton of harm in his domestic policy, but didn't actually do a whole lot for foreign policy beyond make people laugh. Bush- The most harmful president of the group bar none. Absolutely disasterous foreign policy that caused an untold amount of bloodshed and suffering, and foreign policy that bludgeoned regressive and horrible shit into the american imagination as natural and effective. Bush set us back decades while insisting we were being dragged into the future, and people ate it up for way too much of his two terms. Biden hasn't been in office long enough for me to say one way or the other. His first year was very bad in that he strolled in on an absolute mess and has done very little to nothing, and this year has not exactly had a great start to it either I don't think anyone would say. I don't see things improving anytime soon but it's unfair to say for sure yet. Oversaw the last time we had a budge surplus. He was the president when the position loss gravitas, though, IMO. One of the best economies ever. Did a lot of bad with crime bills, welfare reform, giving China lots of technology. Obama. Super unproductive, a lot of that falls on congress of course, but still, unproductive presidency. Could have been a lot bolder early in the presidency, who knows, we might have actually been able to get national healthcare if he had balls of steel. Trump. He talked a lot of shit, fucked covid response, alienated allies and got closer to adversaries. W. Bush. He fucked up an entire region of the globe for 20+ years. So much death and destruction in Iraq lies slowly on his hands because Saddam tried to kill his daddy. So he sucked internationally and then add in shit like no child left behind, the patriot act, he is clear cut worst president since Wilson. The fact that he seems like a nice enough guy doesn't matter, he was an awful president. At the end of his term, I expect Biden to be between Trump and Obama.
