Korea is #1 actually, but Japan is in the top 3. Technology is good in the major cities, but not everywhere else. Meaning, a lot of reliance on paper based stuff and not every place takes credit cards I worked in Japan for 2 weeks almost years ago. It's a beautiful country. Also Very clean, organized and respectful/polite. But it's not perfect by any means. There's a lot more conformance in the work place and it's very top down. At the same time it's very homogenous and if you are not native born Japanese, you won't be treated the same as one who is. It's very true you won't be treated the same as Native born Japanese even if you are 100% ethnically Japanese but weren't born in Japan. But I find the actual in practice discrimination here to not be nearly as bad as when I lived in America. There is a YouTube channel that interviews black people who live in Japan and most of the ones from America cite less discrimination as a reason for living in Japan. It's honestly complicated and depends on a lot of factors.
