6 chicken strips were $9 and they were small. At least they tasted good.

(I gave my mom some money to buy KFC for dinner. Didn't know what I was getting myself into.)

lol I havent had KFC in years. As kids they use to say them chickens were cloned/artificial and i was afraid to eat it. Iove their potato wedges tho

Chickens used for slaughter have been genetically modified to grow faster and not move around much to make raising them far more lucrative. The farm chicken we think of is by far the minority of chickens out there now.

Haven't had it since before mum died. There was a place near the hospital that we would pick up dinner from a few times after going to see her.

Everythings expensive now.

I had chicken thighs, broccoli and a potato for dinner last night. I only spent like $7 on it at the grocery and I still have some to fix for dinner tonight. I bet it's better than fast food

Still not as expensive as Popeyes or Mary Browns, at least around here. Not that our KFC is worth going to anymore.

Maybe. Unless you sick at cooking. And when I say you, I dont mean you specifically. I mean, in general, whoevers cooking. I know some people who suck at cooking. Or some people who like for a certain way. I know Ive have food where I liked the fast food version more than the home cooked version, as an example So, it could be better or worse depending on how someone cooked it, and what they wanted taste-wise

I pass by a grocery store on my way home from work and they have some of the best fried chicken. And it was on sale yesterday, 10 pieces of dark meat for $9.99.

I like cold fried chicken, so I've got meals for days now.

Its a total rip off. Not sure why its so expensive.

I liked KFC when I was a kid. Nowadays I can't see why. Popeyes is the only chicken I get anymore. Their stuff is always juicy and crunchy, even if its "old" chicken that's been sitting a bit.

KFC chicken's crust reminds me of paste and always has that mushy inner part between the outer part of the crust and chicken that I find pretty gross.

Agreed. When compared to KFC, I'll happily pay Mary Browns for edible fried chicken rather than grease filled sacks of disgusting nastiness with extra salt.

When I buy fried chicken, I go to my local grocery's deli counter and get an 8 piece basket for $8.99 (when it's on sale that is); then add whatever I have on hand at home for a full dinner. I've found that, not only is the chicken cheaper than going to KFC and/or Popeyes, it tastes better and isn't as greasy, which is an added plus.

I too miss the double down, but it was flawed. Too salty, and one was never enough but 2 were too many.

The prices hadn't been worse than other fast food places, and it's cheaper than most chicken places.

However, their low-end deals have gone up in price. Even the old $5 fill-up (which was the best value among fast food places) is now like $6.50 or $7

Nowadays Church's is probably the cheapest but I doubt most have even tried it.

Popeyes is the best anyway. 2 can dine meal, 8.99 for 5 pieces of chicken, two sides, and 2 biscuits. AND they taste better than kfc

Ive had stuff from Churchs Chicken. Theres a couple close by. And once, they sent me a bunch of coupons. And I like coupons, even though I rarely get to use them

Kennedy's Fried Chicken is probably cheaper but that might just be a NY thing.

Taste-wise, maybe? Price-wise, not so much. Granted, I haven't had Popeyes as much as KFC so... kinda skewed.

My local grocery (Publix) has good chicken. I usually buy it when it goes on sale, like 8 pieces for $8.99 or something like that, which will last me for a couple of days. Much better chicken than KFC and not as greasy either.

I was in KC once and i seen a churches. I kept telling my buddy i wanted to try it out and he shot me down real quick saying no its horrible food. I never did get to try it but i just assumed its the worst

tbh, Publix is an incredible chain. Not having those is yet another reason why the Northeast part of the country sucks.
