It may not be our country but we all live on this planet. We all need to look out for one another. If for no other reason than the stuff happening over there could end up having dramatic effects on everyone else.

If I saw someone attacking my neighbor I would intervene. Whether it be by going over there and actually stepping in or merely calling 911. Just because it isn't my house or my problem doesn't make it ok for me to look the other way when bad shit is going down.

To the individual, fair enough

To anyone part taking in the republic, ehhhhhhhhhhhh. Being prudent requires being able to see where the dominos will lie

I picked "somewhat" because it shouldn't mean that we should not feel empathy for citizens of other countries, that we should offload our own problems to other countries, that we should exploit other nations, or that we should not feel obligated to act when injustice befalls people from other countries.

But we also are not sovereign in other countries and should not force our way in to fix every problem when the act of us doing so can be a problem in itself. And when you're speaking of military intervention, that is a whole other ballpark, because bringing more players into a war has a lot of negative consequences even if the intentions are good.
