why is there a speaker in the controller, it's fuckin stupid, it's like they tried to copy the wiimote but they didn't understand how it's something that can really only work like that because of how you used the wiimote

holding a stationary controller and hearing a bowstring being pulled is not immersive. hearing a bowstring being pulled as i'm actively pantomiming pulling back a bowstring? that's immersion. not that it super was pulled off very well, because it was the wii.

it's loud, and jarring, on a like, 0.5 watt speaker from a motorola dynatac 8500x from 1987

I have the volume off on my controllers and all sound goes through my TV and speakers. You're not missing anything if you update your settings properly.

the noise is annoying, but it is also noise that i need to hear because it is critical to understanding the media i am using

that doesn't mean i am not allowed to criticize said noise, in fact it's what allows me to criticize it.

But why do you have to hear it from the controller? If you mute the controller it plays the sound on the speakers/headphones or whatever you're using to hear the game.

The first time I heard it was playing gta 5 on ps4 and it scared the shit out of me

my first time was deus ex mankind divided, when they talk through the radio it comes out of the controller and it sounds absolutely awful
