Yes, but I'm very good at getting out of having to show up. And if I did wind up in voir dire I'd probably get tossed because I know what Jury Nullifcation is.

Twice.

The first was settled before I had appear, the second I appeared but was dismissed after jury selection.

Yes, but it got buried in a pile of my mom's mail and I didn't find it until a week after I was supposed to attend selection. They were pretty understanding about it, but then I moved to a different province for two years, so they couldn't summon me again right away. Still haven't had another call.

Called? Yes. Gone? No.

Once. After a few days of waiting and one interview I got to stand up in front of the judge, defendant and other potential jurors to explain what Magic: The Gathering is. I was dismissed immediately after.

Just served on a jury regarding a contract dispute over the sale of labron James high school jersey.

Was called in once, but wasnt chosen. The one last month, I didnt have to come in.

Yes. Three times in a very short span. First time, I went. They said everyone was going to get picked because they had a shit ton of stuff. Then something happened, and most of us got released. Two of my buddies got picked, though. But only one had to do a case

The second time, I ended up not going. It was not too long after the first one. Maybe a month or so, I think. But I cant really remember I had to wait to call and find out if I was going there or not. So, I ended up missing all of work

The third time was maybe a couple weeks at most. I was very surprised. Luckily, I found out I didnt have to go before the weekend was over

Then the very next week, another summons came in. But it was for my roommate So, I dont know what happened there.

The weird thing is the timing. The first one I got, I remember having for a long time. But maybe I just forgot about it and never went. But I remember debating on what I should do. Though, I guess the first one I technically got was one sent to my home back in Maryland. But my mom sent it back saying I didnt live there anymore But my ID still had that address

It was one of the questions the lawyer asked me. We filled out a questionnaire as part of the process and one of the questions asked us to list podcasts we listen to. I put down one related to MTG and it came up.

I sat in the waiting room for hours then lunch then waited 2 more hours then got dismissed

I was called for it October 2001 - made it through the first day of eliminations, but wasn't selected. Haven't been called for jury duty since then.

Yeah, but I'm disabled and I really play it up so I never have to go

3 times. First 2 got canceled, 3rd i had to show up for selection but thankfully was not chosen.

I volunteer.

My mom drives me there. It's great money for us.

2 times when I was a resident (green card) so I couldn't legally go
2 times after that as a citizen

The first one the person was a no show so we got to leave and the second the person wasnt ready and they didnt want us waiting for another hour or 2

I had multiple reasons why I couldn't serve, not sure which one did it but I think it was the "I think our justice system is corrupt so I'll vote innocent no matter what" when they were going through the questions

I've been called for jury duty several times. The last time, I was called into the court room, but didn't get selected. The time previous to that, I only got to outside the court room because they decided to do the trial without a jury.

Yes. Got ejected from one case cause I'm I'm correctional officer. Next case was tossed before jury selection cause the judge decided there wasn't enough evidence.

I felt bad for the first kid. Apparently here a lawyer can pick 3 people to kick off the jury. We are asked questions so they can decide who to kick off. I was kicked off cause I was a CO. But over half the jury was low enforcement or related to law enforcement. His head kept sinking lower with each jury member questioned. He ended up pleading guilty

Four times.

Served the first.

Dismissed the second , because I had worked with the defendant.

Served the 3rd , but was dismissed during the trial because when the defendant's wife showed up , I had worked with her also. She had changed her name and I didn't know who she was until I saw her.

Fourth time , we (the jury pool) sat for a video describing our duties as a juror , which contained a little too much humor for a serious solemn duty , I thought.
The judge sent us back into the lobby while they conducted a procedure we couldn't witness.
Came back in and the judge started removing his robe , the defendant had changed their plea and ended the trial.

Yes and I was disgusted by people among the jury who wanted to pass a guy who was drunk driving and completely visibly belligerent and hammered on camera during the arrest and the station breathalyzer. It was 1.5 outta 12 (the one lady was only half sure because of the other corrupter), but we almost didn't get that bastard to join us.

I cannot stand people who want to subvert the system because of their feelings. Makes me think juries are a bad idea on should be nullified. The guy was wreckless and could've killed someone.

I told the arresting officer about it after the verdict too. He said it happens all the time. Equal justice for all my ass.

Called more times than I can remember when I lived in California. Often enough that I knew where I could plug in my laptop in the juror's room. Only requested to be excused once, when they wanted me to serve at the courthouse in Kearny Mesa, roughly an hour's drive for me.

Selected for a jury twice. Dismissed for cause during voir dire from one, the other I was actually impaneled. That one was a commercial truck driver arrested for drunk driving (BAC 0.06%, below the 0.08 limit for motorists but well above the 0.04 limit for commercial drivers). The defendant's case was extremely flimsy and our first vote was unanimous for guilty.

I've lived in Nebraska now for over 15 years and I haven't been called even once.

I was just recently called for two dates (first time since 2005). The first date was "delayed" until the second date, so we'll see next month.

I am on stand service next month. This is like the 3rd or 4th time now.

Yes, 4 fucking times....

Never been on an actual jury though, but all 4 were different kinds of courts.

1) Town court (which sucks BTW because there is no lottery, you have to show up no matter what and it is always done at night). It was for 2 DWI cases, both of which settled about half an hour after I showed up.
2) County court, but my number was in the 700's, and they usually pick their jury before getting to the 300's, so I didn't get called in.
3) District court, this one sucks (not as much as Town though) because you are basically "on call" for 3 months. Thankfully, I never had to go in.
4) Grand jury, didn't have much experience with this one because covid happened just after I got the notice, so they ended up canceling it.

Hoping they got it all out of their system and I don't get a notice again.

I was called 2 and a half years ago. They never spoke to me or asked me a question and then somebody came up to me and told me they didn't need me and to go home.

To be honest I had my mom call to make an excuse for me. Apparently they were understanding. I just was not up for it at the time.

I wish I could do that. I hate going. The only good thing is if I miss work because of it. But then, I have to spend a good chunk of the day waiting to see if Ill be released or not. And I definitely dont want to get picked

I was called four times that I can remember. The first time I had to go the criminal court building in Chicago but didn't know where it was (since I didn't live in Chicago); so had to ask for directions from a mechanic in a garage in Humboldt Park (which isn't a good area in which to ask for directions, I might add). I arrived late; so didn't get picked.

The second time I made it to that same courthouse but didn't get picked because I told them the defendant reminded me of someone I knew who was having drug problems (it was a drug case, btw) at the time. I guess the prosecutor believed that I'd be too sympathetic to the defendant and vice versa.

The third time I opted out due to being the only transport for my physically disabled kid to get to and from school, etc. The first two times there was no kid involved.

The last time that I had jury duty, I was given a number and told to call the court the day before and the day of that duty. Both times I was told that my juror number wasn't being called; so I stayed home for an unpaid day off (I work part-time).

Im black so Im instantly out as a juror.

Once, but I couldn't attend (no car at the time).

Called 4 times, went there 3 of them but never served.

The 4th one was just last year and when I called the number it said I didn't even have to show up which was great.
