Bodyguard who autoguards a player he doesn't know about is an awful idea

Would be a sick idea to have Town auto guard scum.

This. I always tell my players if a hidden condition exists. Not what it is per se, but yeah.

Even if you know you're autoguarding a Mason Recruiter, if you don't know who they are, it sucks.

You would have to tell the Bodyguard who the Mason Recruiter is and probably give them the choice to guard or not.

I actually think letting the bodyguard know which player in the game is Chrom (without necessarily letting him know he's a mason recruiter) would be fine. It'd be like almost starting with a mason buddy but not quite

I had that exact role in Merlin mafia. Merlin always protected king Arthur and was informed which player King Arthur was and that he was Town. King Arthur was not informed of him.

Knowing who the Mason Recruiter is and being able to protect only them is fine.
Knowing who the Mason Recruiter is and being forced to protect them is okay.
Not knowing who the Mason Recruiter is and being forced to protect them is bastard.

Then Robin upgrade on Frederick makes him able to bodyguard anyone and gain a one shot bulletproof

I think if you need a BG for one role only, you're already in a volatile spot.

Technically I think the setup would work without a one role bodyguard if you just altered the recruiter/enabler dynamic, I was just trying to alter the idea behind the setup as little as possible (Luis clearly wanted the mason recruiter to actually be able to recruit people)
