I seriously thought Kilo-Khan was the VR Troopers villain until literally just now as I was listening the theme song as I typed this. Bro, if Kilo-Khan isn't the villain, I literally remember nothing about VR Troopers except for the theme song, the Dog being the Alpha of the series, and that Lazer Lance finishing move.

The main villain from VR Troopers is called Grim Lord if I'm remembering right.

In Beetleborgs kids becacme superheroes and could summon a phantom by sitting on a piano incorrectly.

Beetleborgs was hard for me to get into once I found out that heroes of the show became the title characters even though they knew that it would make supervillians real too. Becoming a hero for the glory of it is some Lex Luthor level shit.

Sounds familiar but I don't know if I watched it or not. I have seen Power Rangers and Beetleborgs though.

Vr Troopers was greats. It was actually doing better than PR for a while but Saban burned through three series worth of stock footage in two seasons.

i tried rewatching it recently but the editing was somehow worse than MMPR season 2 lmao. Its so jarring to watch.

Beetleborgs was another show that was beating PR in popularity and suffered from running out of source footage. After those series the Metal Heroes went into a weird direction, though Im genuinely surprised Saban didnt try to adapt them anyway considering we got Masked Rider Starring Furby <_<

The show was originally pitched as Cybertron featuring Jason David Frank off his departure as the Green Ranger playing the role of Adam Steele. Saban used footage from the Metal Heroes series Choujinki Metalder. Naturally there were issues with Hasbro over the name of the show. Meanwhile fans were mailing Saban wanting Tommy to return to Power Rangers. They answered the call and brought JDF back. Meanwhile Brad Hawkins was cast as his replacement now under the role of Ryan Steele. Saban added footage from Jikuu Senshi Spielban and rounded out the cast with Sarah Brown as Kaitlin Star and Michael Bacon as JB Reese.

As the second season started Ryan lost his powers (as they ran out of Metalder footage), and Saban adapted Space Sheriff Shaider to give him a new suit. Saban had to be creative as these shows never crossed over in Japan, so if you saw all 3 characters transformed on screen at the same time that was new original American footage while the rest was Japanese. The acting got considerably worse as the show progressed.

Whenever I think of Power Rangers ripoffs, I think of Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog.

I never even saw the second season/iteration after Grimlords Fortress was attacked. He activated a self destruct for 3 minutes. The Troopers got out safely.

I remember 3 seasons of TMNT back in the day, but only a few years ago did I realize there were TEN. Did they take them off of "syndicated" television or did I just miss the memo?

Only a few years ago did I even realize there were 10 seasons, and the "Red Sky" Episodes.

I believe the # of episodes was 193, ultimately ending with "Divide and Conquer"

Saban dropped it stone cold when it didn't succeed to the extent that they wanted, even if it did turn a profit. A shame, they had perhaps the biggest, most detailed figurines, with customizable armor and everything.

It was tough to keep track of TMNT in the 1980s thanks to syndication. It would randomly jump timeslots and even change stations. Pokemon and DBZ had that problem before they got picked up by major networks.
