Old Shaky Sam and his son Gene. Shaky Sam was my grandpas barber as a kid, so the dude had to be at least 80 in the 90s when he did my hair.

He always had westerns or the current football game playing on the TV (which was sitting on top of a dead TV, one of those big TVs in a wooden frame that looked like a Table top), but when i would come in he would switch it to cartoons.

The shop was old and everything was sun faded or covered in tobacco stains because everyone chain smoked. He had those retro gumball machines and a big ass coffee machine straight from the 70s.

We called him Shaky Sam because he was always shaking like leaf unless he was cutting hair. As soon as he started a cut it was like some shit out of an anime where he would go all "zen" and be as calm and steady as could be. At the end he would always give me some candy and a handshake.

He died in the late 90s and his son in 2006. They closed up the shop and it became an Airsoft gun store that soon went under, and then an African Hair braiding salon that also went under. Right now it is a struggling 2nd hand cellphone store that i cant picture lasting another year.

RIP Shaky Sam and Gene. :(

lucky. my old ass barber kept shaking even while cutting so the only thing worth getting from him was a buzz cut. and while his son could cut hair fine he also turned out to be a wife beater and a rapist so he's currently in jail.

My old barber had closed down and I had to find a new one. The one I found was in this trailer on the side of the road. It had been there a long time so I thought it cannot be too bad. It was an old man in there. For the most part he cut my hair great. He did have shaky hands, but he still cut my hair really good. I went to him the next time I needed a cut and just like last time it started off great. This time though he asked if I wanted my neck shaved. I have had shaves with a straight razor before so I thought why not. As soon as he started I felt like a POW. slice after slice along my neck. he got all the hairs, but by neck was all fucked up. I had blood all over the top of the back of my shirt. my neck just had shallow slices all over the back of it. it looked like freddy kreuger was stroking the back of my neck all night. He didnt charge me for the haircut, I never went back.
