Yeah it's really messed up. I don't know how accurate this is, but there was something written on the side that translates to "For the children"

Have any of you been keeping up on the conflict a lot? Been wondering how much the foreign volunteers have been helping. Last I heard 20k volunteers from around the world were there helping, but haven't heard much about them.

I thought "for children" was pretty obvious, but I guess they should've written "yes, we are ukrainians" to avoid any confusion.

But then again Ukraine has been shooting at pro-Russia regions like Donetsk and Lugansk for the last several years.

Who is your source, out of interest? There are some well known sources that parrot Sergei Lavrov, such as The Grayzone, but I'm curious where you're getting yours. Russia's media is quite effective at what it does, even though it's had to get a lot sloppier in recent months, considering their atrocity count has ramped up considerably.

Perhaps you got your information from twice convicted sex-offender Scott Ritter, or from abuser Richard Medhurst. I'm very interested in the media landscape you inhabit, let me know your sources if you're feeling generous!

Interesting that Russian propaganda has seemingly consistently relied on blaming the victims for attacks proven to have been carried out by Russian military. Is the Ukrainian military really going to 'false-flag' fuck their entire country? First it was the Mariupol hospital, then this, now the Bucha massacre, along with piles of raped women, there are literal interviews of Russian soldiers bragging about it, satellite imagery....

Also, this is my rebuttal to all of the self-professed 'anti-American anti-imperialists' that constantly finger-point at American crimes to...absolve Russian crimes? The cognitive dissonance even without further details is remarkable.

The difference between US war crimes and Russian war crimes is that we got to see Abu Ghraib reported on when it happened. It's disgusting how little time those that perpetrated those heinous acts served (yes, past tense).

However, when we observe Russian media, they absolutely WILL NOT report such atrocities by the Russian armed forces. They will actively refute the veracity of ANY atrocity, and typically attempt to shift the blame to the victims. This is not singular - they do this with all events.

So while we need to push for US accountability, pointing out their war crimes to rationalize Russian war crimes does not absolve anyone nor change the fact that the Russian ruling class will utilize their national media to deny ANY wrongdoing.

Anyone who took time to observe discourse on Serbia or Syria knows that none of this transparent denialism is new.

Oddly, social media companies are rather selective with whom they remove for blatant misinformation. People like Russell Brand are on the level of Alex Jones at this point, and they get a pass because of the (not so) plausible deniability they shoehorn in at the beginning and end of their verbal diarrhea.

*edit, I mean, it's not that odd since it's just profit-driven. the big ones like Jones get dropped because they become financial liabilities.

Russia is defaulting on their foreign held debt to US banks. This isn't going to affect the US very much, but it's going to make Russia's ability to borrow debt that much harder.

Since increasing national debt is always bad wouldn't that be a stealth buff to their economy

They're trying to pay in rubles which the investors are refusing as they are unlikely to be able to turn that into usable currency equal to the amount of the payment. Russia says they're gonna sue which I'm not sure how that works with international courts honestly.

Yeah I'm not sure how that works either. Although if the contracts say "Russia agrees to pay in USD" suing isn't going to help them much.
