DarkRoast 03/25/22 9:03:58 PM #1:	For the first few hours of the game, I mostly thought this was a So-Bad-It's-Good dumpster fire. However, over time I started to notice clever little nods that slowly made me realize what SoP really is: It's a satirical deconstruction of every Final Fantasy game. For instance - the forest level looks wide open but the path seems almost unreasonably narrow for seemingly no reason. Then you realize this level is based on Final Fantasy XIII. You begin to realize that every level makes clever satirical jabs at the FF game it represents. It's absolutely on purpose. The paper-thin characterization of Jack and Co are a satire of the equally personality-less characters of FF1. They were basically faceless avatars with a single purpose. The reason Jack only cares about his singular mission is because that's literally the only motivation of the Warriors of Light. And that's FF1, isn't it? These things are really easy to miss unless you're REALLY into Final Fantasy, but if you've played enough of them, the subtle nods become increasingly more clever, satirical and kind of hilarious.
