That was always great when my dad wanted me playing all of them growing up too of the major 5 sports, the only one I didn't play growing up was football. Hockey was just 1 year when I was like 5 or 6. Soccer was like half of elementary school but it's always during shitty times of the year so I was prone to heat exhaustion and dehydration and I never really liked it, plus my father was an emotionally and psychologically abusive c word at times and he went off on me once after a game so that poisoned it for me permanently. Basketball was a few years but I didn't like having to play defense and eventually I had enough of it. Baseball was the one that I actually did like but I was never as good at it as I wanted to be and my father poisoned that one for me too so I dropped it when it actually got to a competitive level and not just kids playing to have fun. This was all before high school level sports. I was done with it all by then. I still usually follow the main ones at a professional level, but very casually (fuck college shit lol) but just for home teams (Boston/New England) oh and horse is fun. Knockout too. First time I ever got punched in the face was during a knockout game. It was in gym class in HS. I was a senior. Kid who hit me was a sophomore but he looked 10-12. He had been talking shit before the game even started and I was like "why are you being a dick for no reason?" I think he was probably bullied a lot, but I had never been an asshole to him so I don't know why he targeted me. He said he could "knock me out in one punch" and I was like "no." He cheated and fucked me over in the game so in the next game I did the exact same thing to him so he charged at me and I grabbed him by the shirt. He punched me, I kicked him in the shin because I didn't want it to look like I didn't retaliate at all but I didn't want to hit him back because I could have really hurt him. He was all red faced and ran off into the weight room to get away from me. I was surprised the whole thing happened. A few other kids trolled me about it but we just kept playing and nothing happened. He was civil to me after that and I don't recall the incident ever being further mentioned. I would also assume that in areas with no professional teams, people would gravitate to college level, even high school level. It makes sense but I personally couldn't do that.
