Predictable. But still decent. I liked the shot selection. Music was appropriate, etc.

Thanks guys, we tried to keep it ambiguous and vague so you dont know whats going on, I feel like knowing the guy is still bad is predictable but was the other stuff too like why he was nailed on the ground? Who the woman was etc

There are some really nice visual touches that I like. The shake into consciousness at the beginning is really good for example. I like the title nail hammering in too. It creates some misdirection of where the story is headed. The lighting changes when he goes evil at the end aren't overdone, but still get the point across nicely.

The storytelling is really nice too. Everything comes together to keep you guessing where this is heading and who is the baddie. It's a lot crammed into a very short amount if time. I like when vagueness is part of the point and actually helps the story.

Now to gripe about incredibly minor things.
There's a few awkward cuts closer to the end imo. After the guy says "I promise", it's a little bit clumsy in the editing and maybe like a hair too long of a pause or something. There's a little bit of that in the transition between where she gets him up and hugs him too. I think part of that is his arm going around her looks a little awkward. I wish he'd have used a little more belabored movement there. It looks uncomfortable in the wrong way. Like how a nerd moves and less like an injury.

I'm glad I watched it which is probably the best compliment you could get from a viewer lol

I don't believe in belts. There should be no ranking system for toughness.

I agree with that. This is something I would share with someone when swapping shorts.

Wow thanks a lot for that in depth review! It really means a lot. When I write and come up with concepts, my style is usually psychological thrillers and I like to keep the audience guessing. I feel that if they feel anything but boredom then its a success and keeping them guessing means theyre intrigued.

I didn't do the editing but its such a subjective art form in and of itself that you can go in a million different directions with it. Its hard for me to get a true view of the film since I know the story, the behind the scenes etc so I dont get to watch it with fresh eyes. Im glad that you enjoyed it overall.
