I have about 75%-80% of the comic (including the Tails mini-series, Sally mini-series and all but 2 of the specials), and have #0 of the Limited Series and #1 of the regular series.

Heh. Didnt know Penders was a tool. I used to read Sonic comics as a kid up until it got to be way too much of a furry soap opera.

Anyway, I always thought it was weird that certain characters were named differently than in the games. Metal Sonic was Mecha Sonic, Super Knuckles was Hyper Knuckles (with no Super Emeralds), Super Tails was Turbo Tails (somehow also with no Super Emeralds). I remember one of the fan letters at the back asked about this and the response was basically a wordy version of nuh-uh, what we call them is their real names. Now it makes sense. That was probably Penders. It makes perfect sense from a guy who tweaks other peoples designs and calls them his own.

Lemon Sundrop Poppyseed. Those are the three word's I associate with Ken Penders. I mean it is fine for a kids comic to tackle issues like drugs but he didn't even try that. No he just had an evil crime boss lace food with LSD.

I loved the Archie Sonic comic growing up and the Penders thing is just sad.

Ken there is a reason Ian Flynn made the jump over to IDW, why he wrote a Sonic Boom episode and is writing for the new cartoon, and is writing the story for the new Sonic game. He's actually decent to work with. You are an egotistical jerk and Sega will never allow you to use knuckles in your glorified fan fic.

I don't understand one thing. Did he make these characters or just get the rights to them.

he made them for the sonic comic under the sonic license meaning sega should own the characters

thing is archie lost their contract with him (or ken stole their copy)

and sega does not give enough of a fuck about knuckles in a cowboy hat to bother with going to court

He made a lot of characters for the comics during his run. This lists them all including variations of the main cast.

As for if he has the rights? *shrugs* Lawsuits unclear but it seems he can make his Lara-Su comic so long as he avoids directly referencing Sonic... despite him talking about putting Knuckles in it or something. >.>

Sega Seems to be happy with not owning the Archie comics characters. I think they tried to claim Penders owned the SatAM characters as a reason they won't be used. So it's not caring and maybe wanting some of extra junk removed.

As far as I can tell he legitimately owns "echy'd'nyas" or whatever the fuck they're called.

He doesn't own anything else including SatAM shit. And he definitely does not own any characters made by Sega.

While he tried to claim Knuckles is one of them that shit won't hold up in court if he actually tested it and he's delusional to think it would.

He is trying to bully Sega into letting him use Knuckles for his comic that will never be released anyway. That won't work.

Although I hate Penders, I feel obliged to defend him regarding the foot fetish commission he received. He just did something he doesn't like to do for the sake of honoring his word. That is deserving of respect. Of course, that doesn't erase all of the bad stuff he did.

It's also getting another sequel, a TV show, and a comic series. Heck, it's currently Paramount's most lucrative franchise! Jeff Fowler is also proposing to direct a Super Smash Bros. movie series next. If his dream comes true, we'll have a video game cinematic universe capable of rivaling, if not beating, the Marvel one! Video game movie adaptations are finally taken seriously thanks to him and his ability to care and listen to the fans.

I really want Penders to try and sue Paramount.
