A Las Vegas teenager has been accused of sexually assaulting, beating and choking his teacher after going to talk to her about his grades, police said. Jonathan Eluterio Martinez Garcia, 16, was taken into custody Friday and hit with a slew of charges, including attempted murder, over the alleged attack, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported. Police said the teen had gone to the teachers classroom at Eldorado High School on Thursday and became violent. [He] began punching the victim and strangled her until she lost consciousness, police said in a statement. Garcia then fled, according to cops. The injured teacher was discovered inside the classroom by a janitor and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Garcia was arrested about a mile from the school and booked into the Clark County Detention Center for attempted murder, sexual assault, battery with intent to commit sexual assault, first-degree kidnapping and robbery. He is being held on a $500,000 bail ahead of a scheduled court appearance on Tuesday. The teen was ordered to have no contact with his teacher.

Rightfully so, this waste of space just ruined his life for good. Even if he wasn't prosecuted, this single article existing will be enough to ruin his chances of finding decent employment.

This kid doesn't deserve a second chance.

Yikes. This is why I'm glad my wife is an elementary teacher. Those kids can be brats but you can at least overpower them if they decide to get violent.

I think they should do some type of background check on teenagers/kids that do malicious violent stuff. See what the parents are up to as well. If it seems like he got influenced from an outside source, leave the parents alone. But if his parents have shady shit going on, look into that too. This stuff doesn't just come out of nowhere. It's not some lil whoopsie daisy, kids will be kids shit. It comes from somewhere.

Yeah, I was confused how they got some of these charges too. I don't think they'll all stick unless there's more details they didn't reveal, but I hope they get justice for this poor teacher.

It's honestly wild to be so sure on either end. Unless you grew up glued to someone, knew all their influences 100% of the time and they were all positive. Then he did something crazy. To be so sure that there's zero chance of oversight in these cases isn't something I can give the benefit of the doubt. The incompetence and laziness of some investigations is way too common. But, I can't fault you for putting faith in a place I refuse to. I'm a skeptical person.
