The funny thing is that he kind of used to be sort of progressive socially but once he started getting criticism from non-conservatives he became super conservative. Which I never understand how people make that leap. "These people criticized me, guess it's time to side with the people who don't think certain groups of people are deserving of basic human rights since they haven't been mean to me."

The problem is that the people who like him the most are your typical Bitcoin libertarian morons who got Trump elected. So of course over time he's going to become more like them by virtue of only hanging out with them.

I definitely noticed a turning point with Musk due to this.

Massively accelerated by the "woke mob" rightfully dunking on him for being embarrassingly wrong about Covid. He picked up a lot bad influences from this. Rogan being one.

And as he's become the richest man, these are the only types that see nothing wrong with his wealth.

I don't use twitter much but I'd see if I could delete my account if this happens.

You never hear a peep about the endless recalls of legacy automakers and GM's inability to figure out why their cars keep exploding because they fund the media through an endless ad budget and donate 10s of millions to politicians/lobbying.

What I find amazing is that his acolytes talk about how successful and visionary he is, but if you actually look at what he's done - virtually all of it either fell apart immediately or is propped up entirely by an endless supply of money.
