There's types of sharks that aren't aggressive and I'd like to pet one just to say I did it. I think it would be cool as hell.

No reason to. I dont want to pet any animals besides cats and dogs.

Yes. In fact, I've petted lots of sharks. Their skin is smooth in all directions.

I pet an adult male bengal tiger at a zoo in Thailand when I was 10.

I pet one of those giant rays at Monterey Bay Aquarium when I was a kid. I imagine it doesn't feel much different lol.

Yes, on the nose. Their noses have a lot of nerves which is why you should punch them there if they try to bite you.

A Manta / Skate is basically just a really flat shark. The eggs even look the same.

The most cool animal I've got to pet was a lion cub, even got my picture with her as I held her. She growled but she was sweet and playful.

I have pet a shark. It was a small shark, but it was a shark. It was cool as hell.

I'm beyond jealous, haven't got to pet a shark.

Cheetahs are actually fairly friendly to humans. Theyre allegedly sort of like dogs and its theorized that they might have been kept as pets in the past. Definitely the safest of the big cats.

Yeah cheetahs are really high strung and not aggressive towards humans. Cheetahs get dog buds to help them through their anxiety.

Oh yeah lol. So I guess I technically have then. :D

Also, I went fishing off the pier in San Diego once, and I almost caught a tiny shark that I estimate was about 2 1/2-3 feet. But I as I was trying to reel it in, it jumped and unhooked itself and swam away. I was going to release it anyway, but it was kind of shocking to reel in the line and see a shark at the end of it even if it was a small one lol.

I routinely pet the Canada Geese in my area. They friendly lol

I have! I went snorkeling and there was some sharks in shallow water. We got to swim with them and pet them

I also caught a shark while fishing. I was fishing for flukes while out at sea and the damn thing pulled so hard that I thought my line was caught on a rock and so I kept reeling hoping to just break the line and rehook it and then the shark comes out and I'm like wtf.

Had to throw it back tho because it was waaaaay under the legal limit.

Yeah. I dont even know what the legal limit is for sharks since Ive never gone shark fishing. But I assumed this one was too small. I didnt want to keep it anyway lol.

It varies per shark and per state. The laws are super confusing and if you catch something you weren't expecting you have to look it up every time. Some states won't even let you catch certain things at all. Like in Florida catching lobsters is banned.
