I actually didn't need anything back when I started CVS. I had some service job experience and hadn't worked in 2 years. I was trained on the job and got state certified. I finally got my national certification last year when I knew I needed it if I wanted to snag a better job.

And I mentioned lateral moves. If your current job sucks, you could at least find a different situation where maybe the immediate surrounding culture is better, even if it's still corporate run bullshit. What would someone have to lose? "The devil you know" is a dumb mentality.

I never said just quit on the spot and pick up a 6 figure desk job at the work store.

Life is too short to be stressed daily at work. Circumstances will never get better dealing with some bullshit job with bullshit bosses, co-workers and clients/customers.

Maybe people are overexaggerating how much their job sucks because I reached my last straw and put in months of disappointment and blown interviews to snag a new job. But I did it because I was worried for my health. I was so close to making a very bad decision and quitting without any backup plan.

No one is benefitting from complaining about their job daily and not even beginning to make an attempt to tell that job to go fuck itself.

It's just all the damn overtime and supervisors that talk to you like your a dog.

Easiest job I've ever had and it's almost impossible to get fired. Hell captain said in lineup the other day only way you get fired is bringing drugs in or fucking a inmate. And that's pretty easy to not do. I don't understand how these women keep doing the shit. Sometimes I wonder if they take the job just to get fucked cause it's always not long into their career it seems

I was working mandatory overtime at the time and I live with multiple people in order to make rent.

I didn't say don't be stressed. I said start finding ways to abandon the stress. A bullshit job will destroy you and it will matter fuck all how many bills you can afford to pay. If we need money to live, then the last thing we need is to keep a job that pays less than life costs. Also, plenty of people that hate their job can pay their bills and find a few hours a day to job hunt. It's for your own good. These employers don't deserve your hard work or loyalty. Request transfers and bounce between retail jobs if that is all you have time to do. There has to be a better situation for everyone.

there are many, many reasons why one may not be able to take the time to get a new job. In the US there are also insurance concerns. I just left my job and had to pay $1500 upfront to continue coverage for one month for my family

Honestly, complaining and venting about their job is legitimately the only way some people are even able to tolerate it in the first place.

And yes, some people can't just up and leave. A hot job market doesn't necessarily mean that there's that many good, well-paying jobs available and sometimes, it's not worth leaving one shitty job for another.

You do realize that getting a new job often means a return to entry-level pay as well as forfeiting the company's 401k contribution. Honestly, this is a pretty detached topic you've made.

I don't particularly like my job, but I don't complain about it. I know there's a lot of people out there doing way worse things for way less pay.

I never even think about my job when I'm not there. Any bullshit I have to deal with gets left there when I leave at the end of the day.

Being forced to endure unnecessary stress at your job that affects your entire life, at work or not, is not good for your mental or physical well being. I meant everything I ever said at the time I got a suspension. There are only two instances I think of where I later realized I was wrong and educated myself. We all know what at least one of those was.

That is literally not what I said. I do wish no one complained about jobs, but because they are no longer abused, not because they sucked it up. You should complain, but that means you need to escape at all costs if the job isn't going to acknowledge your grievances. Your bullshit job that you can't survive on that treats you like cattle doesn't deserve you. Might as well bounce around locations or find a similar job. They can't be worse. I never spoke on the length of the process or suggested anyone should quit without first being hired elsewhere
