Closing manager on a Saturday, like every week. A bunch of orders are on screen. I have my driver working the front, but he doesn't know how to take orders yet. Just cash them out.

He cashes a dude's order out, then the dude wants orange soda and Buffalo sauce. My driver tells me while I'm making a ton of pizza, I tell him it might take 15 minutes before I can get to him. He tells him this.

So then I start working on pizzas while my driver goes to cut the ones coming out. I'm all alone besides my driver, mind you. Then the dude begins saying "Hey! Hey!" I look over, as the maketable is next to the front, then he says "Orange Soda!". I tell him only about 10 more minutes. He says "but orange soda." Then I tell him I'll be right with him, he quiets down.

Then after a minute of silence, he says "Buffalo sauce!" I'm actually annoyed, so I continue cooking and say, again, "I'll be with you in a bit."

After a bit more of that garbage, I finish with the orders and go up to him. He orders his soda and sauce, and before he leaves, he says "You should really get more help."

I've never been more angry at a customer.

Most are normal, respectful people. Problem is that the assholes stand out so much more than the others.

About 20 years ago when I worked at a Blockbuster, a woman came in, slammed a VHS on the counter, yelled at me that it wasnt rewound when she got it home, so she had to rewind it herself. She finished off her 30 second rant by screaming that she hoped Id get hit by a truck and died when I got off my shift.

Seemed like an overreaction to me.

If I worked there, and if it was doable, Id make sure that every single tape that she rented was NOT rewound.

I had a shopper spit his tobacco waste into an empty box from my stock cart, despite the numerous available garbage cans.

It was gross, but it was mashed in the cardboard baler all the same.

God, that dude pissed me off lol. Such TCB too lmao I dont have any drinks at my house, *I* forgot to order one, but Im gonna blame it on everyone else but my dumbass self!

Those are some of the worst. The absolute worst is when they start screaming excuse me right as they get to the counter. They can clearly see everyone is busy and it might take a minute, but in their mind theyre the only person that exists. I always made sure to take extra time before I got to them.

Around 7(I believe) orders popped up on screen, each order takes(or is supposed to take) about 4 minutes on average from the moment the order is placed to get into the oven. About...5 I'd say we're 2 or 3 pizza orders. So I was averaging a pizza a minute, while dealing with his complaints, while also getting the sides of each item(breadsticks, cheesesticks, pasta) that popped on screen ready to go into the oven.

I gave him an approximate, and I beat that approx by about 2 or 3 minutes. Trust me, it wasn't poor time management in the slightest, I was working my ass off.

And to get him the soda and sauce, I'd need to go over, set the order into the system, then grab both the 2 liter and a cup full of Buffalo sauce which means other customers would get their orders late. And given those orders were deliveries, time is paramount to actually completing orders.

She was 'playing a lot' at slot machine.
There was literally piss dripping through the chair.
Usually, though they would have done something about that.
But that crazy bitch stood us down...then slincked out of the building.
I saw her leaving as I was talking to my Supervisor and the Security Manager.

But really I saw all types of shit there.
What would be 'The craziest day at work' at a normal job was basically every day there.
I really wish I had kept a journal.

The Manager who told me that....who also didn't to take responsibility for it...will probably be the worst I'll ever see.
Ironically her name is Karon...her parents could even spell the name right.

I've told these stories before on CE, and probably will again, also called the cops on someone who didn't show up to a shift. ~I shit you not.

I put em back on hold...and make em wait extra too.

Yup, I get that feel. Usually I put you on hold because I'm doing something. Making the phone ring 8 times in a row doesn't make me take any less time tbh.

Hear ya. Had a customer call me a stupid mfer because I didnt hand him the chips and drink that he never ordered. I repeat the order at the box, and again at the window to verify and was correct both times.

Another customer got irritated that the delivery driver didnt have change change for em. We round to the dollar in customers favor on delivery so change isnt a thing driver has to worry about. So if it comes to something like 15.70 well knock the 70 off. She still had the nerve to cuss him out and then call the store flipping the fuck out.
