God forbid someone says something uplifting to broken young men or to just men in general for once.

He says things like take responsibility and take care of yourself. Saying those things to men shouldn't be considered controversial.

People like to target him for his political opinions, which are often questionable, I don't really care for it. Although his main content is genuinely useful to many young people, which a good chunk of people like to completely ignore.

Personal maintenance tasks like cleaning your room are morally and intellectually neutral, outside of extreme cases where they hurt others (like providing a breeding ground for rats that infest your neighbours). How messy your room is indicates absolutely nothing about your ability to advise somebody on how much salt to add to their potatoes.

And that's a pretty stupid metaphor. If nobody gave advice until they had perfected their own life, everyone would miss out on a whole lot of really useful advice (and also a whole lot of bad advice, but that's life). Even more narrowly, it's not at all uncommon to understand the theory behind something well enough to give advice on it while not having put that theory into practice for any number of reasons. Comments like that one just come across as looking for excuses to ignore advice/shut down people that are trying to be helpful.
