Remember when Final Fantasy was visually impressive?

I remember trying to watch it 3 different times and I couldn't do it.

Then I force my cousin to watch with me, and it was terrible

Apparently the movie almost bankrupt Squeenix

Don't know why they didn't just do a sequel/prequel to FF8 or 9

Visually stunning for the time. Boring as hell until the last 20 minutes or so.

saw it in theaters when i was like 14 or so
it was me my best friend and a friend of his that i wasn't friends with, we were the only ones in the theater
the other guy got so pissed at how bad it was that he literally pissed all over the theater in some weird turboneckbeard protest
last time i saw that guy he broke into my house while i was asleep, raided my liquor cabinet and passed out drunk in an alleyway

It was awful

I saw it one time when it was in the theater. I barely remember anything about the story though. I know it had a female main character. There might have been a scientist character

That's about it. I do remember though when it started and they showed the Squaresoft logo, everyone in the audience cheered. It's funny now that I know what that movie did to the company

you mean Square(soft). The movie was the a main contributor to them needing to merge with Enix to avoid bankruptcy.

On topic: I hated it on release cause I wanted them to just do a movie on 4-9 instead, or something similar in tone/vein. Watching it a few years ago I enjoyed it more, but 7/10 sounds about right.

It looked pretty cool at the time.

Honestly I remember is sucking but I wanna say I liked it anyways.

It destroyed squaresoft and was only a mediocre movie. I would have much rather that money be spent making a squaresoft game.

It's such a waste. They had all that money to spend on a movie based on a beloved franchise with a ton of great ideas... and that's the story they went with.

I liked it as teen when I saw it on theaters, but havent seen it again. I do wonder why they made a movie that has absolutely nothing to do with the franchise. Just a generic sci fi movie.

Has Final Fantasy in the name therefore it's good.
