I am not sure if snow globe earth is the real term but I found out about this theory the other day. I couldn't find the picture I originally saw but basically the idea is the earth is like a million times larger than we think but most of the planet is frozen wasteland. Dotted around this mega planet is circles of life that life exists in. The picture I saw basically showed a snowy giant planet and you saw these circles of thawed out land and ocean cut off from each other by the wastes. And one of those life circles would be our world. I am assuming aliens live in other life circles cut off from us by the frozen wastes

I have been thinking about that the past few days. That would make for an interesting scifi story I think

I've always been partial to the inside out theory, if we're talking crazy Earth theories. We live on the inside of the crust, basically like the intro to Game of Thrones.

The sky is real, it's solid blue because the other side of the hollow earth is so far away. The sun is the molten core of the planet.

I think flat earth is more shocking because it would go against like everything we know about the universe.

I think they're all dumb though and made/believed by people who would rather sit in their room and theorize instead of believing other people who were willing to leave their room

This begs the question, if the Earth was flat, would the other planets be flat too, or are they the same?

as for why theres ice in the middle of the "earth" even though the sun melted around it?

Ice Ball Earth is one of those "so fucking cool I wish it was true" theories, up there with lizard people and mothman.

My question was in response to the "we're on the inside of a hollow earth" idea, not flat earth theory

Without checking, is this snow globe earth theory claiming this "earth is a million times larger but it's all frozen wasteland" stuff is due to the north and south poles having unexplored areas or something?

From the name of the theory I was initially expecting it to be like Musk's "we're living in a simulation theory" like some great being was holding the earth in a snow globe in the palm of his hand

no, its like the picture i posted. the earth is "flat" like the flat earth theory, but is attached attached to a mega giant sphere and the earth is just a melted pond in the giant ice ball sphere. the ice walls lead to the ice wasteland and somewhere off into the wasteland there are other "planets" which are merely melted ice ponds much like earth

thinking about it a little more now that I see the picture, it seems like one of the big appeals of this as a setting is the idea of there being other planets out there, just we cannot reach them as they are separated by a vast frozen wasteland

....which is basically just true except the wasteland is space

They're functionally the same theory. There are variants of the regular flat earth theory that state that there could be other oases beyond the ice wall. Great ice ball Earth just allows for the existence of other "Earths".

The worst part of both theories is how they require the sun to be a tiny ball of fire hovering in circles a few hundred kilometres above the the Earth, but propose absolutely no explanation for how this could be possible.

Stars are just lights from the other side of the planet when the sun turns off. Other planets are hoaxes.
