Stocks dropping across the board aside, I still can't understand why anyone would buy a Tesla at this point. Made sense a few years ago when EV options were limited to Tesla or a Nissan Leaf, but now that the big players are making their own EV's, there's really no reason to buy a Tesla over it's competition unless you only care about how fast the Plaid line accelerates. --- Balenciaga hoodies and Gucci shoes #FreeMelly ... electricbugs2 posted... Stocks dropping across the board aside, I still can't understand why anyone would buy a Tesla at this point. Tesla is the big player and theyre sold out til mid 2023. Because when you actually go to buy an EV, you see that the options from the big players are either vaporware or objectively worse in every way (range, speed, efficiency, software) and are like $10k+ more expensive than a Tesla after dealership fees. Its why only Tesla sales spiked after the SB ads legacy auto ran for their EVs. People saw it was a lie and had to buy a Tesla instead. --- http://i.imgur.com/hI4hAMb.jpg ... Copied to Clipboard!

Maybe it'd be easier to understand why they're among the worst run companies and will never compete in EVs. Toyota's is a failson that inherited the company. He blows the company's RnD budget rigging elections for politicians that don't believe in climate change. Is against EV adoption. GM's is a human dunce cap that fell for the hydrogen Nikola scam. The_Critic posted... in what world does a 110 price / earning ratio make sense?P/E is not a metric used for companies with Tesla's growth. So that's why it confuses you. In like a year they went from lol ur unprofitable to making more profit than Ford and GM in spite of selling less than 1/5th the cars. They have an infinite backlog and just opened new factories (with industry leading quality control) so they're just getting started. Tesla's 50% growth maintained and projected through this environment is way better than: Amazon, who just overspent and commerce side is now basically unprofitable. Google, who is projecting a slow down in ads. Facebook, who just got their entire business model destroyed by Apple. --- http://i.imgur.com/hI4hAMb.jpg ... Copied to Clipboard!

And thats just the tip of the iceberg.Fair, but sales still show a preference for Tesla. Those models are inferior aside from subjective things like appearance. Tesla doesn't have dealerships, which customers love because dealerships are the worst. Service techs come to your home for many things, but it'll take time to continue building actual stations, fair. The quality control of the interiors are perfect from the new factories. If you don't like that they're minimalistic, I get it, but subjective. I don't like a clash of snobby materials with a million redundant buttons everywhere because it reminds me of an old person's car. 3/Y/whatever comes will continue to be best in class on price/specs. Legacy auto's own projections don't have them competing on the affordable end at Tesla's current scale til like 2030. Too little too late. --- http://i.imgur.com/hI4hAMb.jpg ... Copied to Clipboard!

The_Critic posted... in what world does a 110 price / earning ratio make sense?Parabolic Growth Tesla currently creates ~800-900k units a year. Their goal is to maintain 50% growth on volume until 2030, which would amount to 30 million units (which is not gonna happen), they've publicly stated their goal is 20 million units for 2030 (20% of total cars). If they were to to hit 6-7M units by 2030 then it justifies the current valuation at 800. They have much better margins on EV sales than their competitors (30% vs 6-10%), they have a large backlog of car orders, plans to implement paid service software, ability to one day purchase starlink/spacex/boring (I dont think it will happen but the idea keeps it as a catalyst to be propped up), plans to accelerate its solar and energy storage business They have to fail to maintain 50% volume growth for a quarter to see its stock really get murdered, which could happen, but so far they've maintained growth. --- Wave.
