I think a lot of people would find our family structure fucked up. The way it's somewhat expected for you to move out at eighteen. I know a lot of places end up with three generations living in the same house.

I do wear shoes indoors, but I have a nice relatively clean and well maintained pair to stroll around in, I have my outdoor sneaks or boots for other things on the rack. I know that bothers some people lol.

clapping/cheering during movies at a theatre. people just want to watch the movie they paid to see.

This one, as an Englishman genuinely bugs me. I've never quite understood the need for all of the nonsense around that. Cheering, clapping and wooing during a movie just seems odd to me lol.

Idolization of political figures.

One of the most unique aspects of American culture being an aversion to quality of life, social support, and infrastructure improvements. While having an adherence to stagnation despite preaching the opposite, causing immense confusion to anyone who looks into how America operates vs what it advertises itself as.

Id say its the opposite.

Lots of non-Western countries have politicians that citizens idolize, even to a fanatical level. But talking shit openly about them? Thats not only allowed in the West, you could say its even encouraged. Yeah, every politician, no matter their party, will have their Stans. But US Americans, for example, can say the foulest of insults about the president, senators, judges, basically anyone, without risking jail or worse. Good luck doing that in some other countries.

I understand it only became that way around ww2 Era. It's slowly starting to go back. Mostly for financial reasons though.

The idea back then iirc was to have a family house and the eldest son would inherit. Why move out just to move back in later? And I guess there was a lot more hands on manual work to be done around a house so more hands the better.

Western society is seen as too individualistic and eastern society is too collectivist. A balance between the two would be nice. However, the most egregious thing that I really can't fathom with American media is this:

You should waste in a restaurant. Bk didn't even want the employees taking the food that didn't sell or sat there too long to be of good enough quality to sell.

One guy provided the right manager was there would bag up the food that was being trashed and take it home to feed to his dogs.

Some restaurants do donate the waste to local pig farms though. Loved seeing that on the local news and the anchor was disgusted after asking "what about the pork you throw out" and the farmer responded "oh pigs love pork"

At least there's like a tiny piece of lettuce sticking out.

Truth talk why do the heart-stopper burger ads, especially Wendys and whatever just show a burger with cheese and bacon but no vegetables? Sometimes I don't even see a pickle, let alone a crisp lettuce leaf. That always makes me feel icky, I can't stand a burger if it's missing that fresh green lettuce leaf color.

I personally love putting butter lettuce on a fresh burger and enjoying that crispness combined with the natural burger juices flavor

That isn't the inverse. Urban decay happens in part because of gentrification as raising prices mixed with stagnant wages are a common causes of the decay, with the former happening due to gentrification.

If I couldn't have it my way at a restaurant I wouldn't eat out at many places. It's just good business. People just need to understand that do q custom order it may take a tad longer.

I agree with eating everything on your plate if you dictated the portion sizes. Unless your like me and have a dog you can give it too.

People do try to decline gifts here unless a gift is common practice for the occasion.
