Especially whenever their ships get shot down officially. Shippers: "oh character A and B are so close. They're obviously dating!" Creator of characters: "actually A and B are close friends. B is actually dating C." Shippers: "how dare you!?! A and B are TOTALLY dating, so just make it official and if you don't I'll harass you at any opportunity until you do!"
