Several musicians who have done concerts where I work. Kenny Loggins, Joan Jett, Pat Benetar, even had a ten minute conversation with Kenny G.

Do anime voice actors count? If so, then yes.

I also met the lead singer of the now defunct and largely-unknown nu metal band Divot at a Trapt concern once. Seemed chill.

When I was a kid I met Blgica Adela Mirabal before her passing. She was the youngest of the Mirabal sisters, her older sisters opposed Rafael Trujillo (the most vile and cruel dictator of the Dominican Republic) and were assassinated on 25 November 1960. They're the reason the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women is commemorated on November 25.

Patrick Stewart bought me a drink at a bar.

And Robin Williams did an unannounced gig at my student union venue and stayed to chat with people afterwards.

Closest I've ever been to meeting a celebrity was seeing a local news anchor eating at a restaurant once.

As a kid I called his house once, too. Just to tell him I loved his books. But his wife answered. She said she'd tell him.

Scottie Pippen and Tyson Fury are the most famous people Ive met. Pippen at a golf club and Fury in Vegas. My buddy used to be a promoter for the bars and clubs so Ive also met a bunch of random Chicago athletes like Joakim Noah and Luol Deng and a bunch of Blackhawk players after they won the Stanley Cup.

Im also somehow related to Pete Sampras (4th/5th cousins or something crazy like that) but Ive never met him.

I used to be in a course with the vocalist (at the time) of 8 Foot Sativa. Not sure how well known (if at all) they are outside NZ though.

I was in one of my local bookshops and there was a small crowd of people in one of the aisles which I was walking through to get to the stationary section and someone put their hand out in front of me, startled and confused I shook that man's hand and continued on.

Then when I went to the tills I saw the sign and realised whose hand I shook. That was Henry Winkler who had finished his book signing.

Ive been to a decent amount of book signings, Comic-Cons, and other organized meet & greets, so Ive met a decent amount of celebrities through the years.

But as far as random encounters, I sat next to Tim Robbins and his son at a Mets game. I got tickets from my job, so they were first row of field level and he had the seats right next to the Mets dugout. We had about a 5-10 minute conversation about his past/future roles. Unfortunately, it was before the era of everyone having a cellphone camera in their pocket, so all I have is this story.

Also met Adrock of the Beastie Boys at a charity comedy show where he was one of the hosts. Beastie Boys is one of my all time favorite bands, so when I saw he was sitting at the table next to mine, I had to go say hello. He was over the top nice once he realized how big of a fan I was. We had a solid 20-25 minute conversation about his career. Thankfully this time it was during the cellphone camera era.

A shit ton mostly at comic and horror conventions. Oh and local concerts with bands like Taproot, Smile Empty Soul, Flyleaf, and Local H. Out on the street randomly not planned I dont believe Ive paid attention enough to see any celebs.

I knew some people before they became celebrities. As for actually talking with them, I mean uh. At a comedy club we got to shake the hands of the comedians after the show as we exited. Besides that, I know a few porn stars and extremely niche musicians who are super famous among certain circles. One of my girlfriends can be heard shouting "fucking owned, bitch" in that milkshake video with Andy Ngo. And I also know a few famous internet journalists. Oh, one of my university professors was a former NYTimes journalist, I think she handled financial stuff?

I was within a few feet of Sergey Brin last summer. also strongly believe I saw Larry David when I boarded a flight in 2003, before i knew who he was. although I did not meet these men, Maybe LD briefly waved jazz hands at me, as if he thought i had made him as i slowly progressed through through his first class seating area
i sold movie tickets to jack white once, also way back then. and a few times to a local elvis impersonator. i suppose there aren't many of those types around these dayz

Oh, and I guess she isnt a celebrity anymore, and I guess really wasnt much of one then either, but in middle school I dated the girl that played Young Donna in Born on the 4th of July.

In terms of it being just a random thing, I met one of our areas local newscasters once. She was really nice, taller than I expected too.
