Waiting for offline complete package because playing FFXIV ARR was one of the biggest chores I have partaken in.

Not sure why you would even think offline would make a difference because the game is like 90% solo anyways.

I always assumed the expansions were free (aside from the monthly subscription fee of course)

I'd assume that an offline bundle wouldn't require a subscription. If they made a properly single-player version with all the expansions for a one-time payment, I'd buy it in a heartbeat, but I'll never subscribe.

Honestly, I would be happy to pay for expansions if I could carry on being a second-class non-subscriber, but their weird "Once you've spent anything you can never revert" model means they won't get a penny out of me.

Uhhhh this will never happen. They're adding the ability to use bots for the main campaign content, but they game will never be "offline", ever.

Then having this absurd free trial that let's people play for hundreds of hours of full game without paying a cent is already the most generous piece of content in the entire gaming industry, not sure why you think it's wierd and greedy that they eventually want money!

I'm well aware it will never happen, and I don't think they're greedy. I'm just saying that I don't like the subscription model, and since the question was "what would be the point of an offline version", I was providing a hypothetical reason to want one.
